The Hamburg S-Bahn is one of the many great regional rail systems in Germany connecting the second biggest city in the country with its suburbs. This S-Bahn network isn't particularly big as it is one of 3 suburban rail networks in Hamburg however it still covers 144 kilometers of track with 4 lines. The system is managed by the national rail operator Deutsche Bahn however fares are managed by municipal transit operator hvv which was the first ever transport association. The rolling stock is made up of 2 trains which are the 474/874 and 490 series. Both trains have the same DB red and white S-Bahn livery recognizable among many S-Bahn systems across Germany. The fares are integrated with the U-Bahn and buses within Hamburg and vary more outside the city limits increasing with the distance of your trip. The services are fast and frequent making for a super convenient way to get around. The trains are also relatively new making for a super comfortable ride. I recommend anyone in the city to use the system as it is one of the backbones of Hamburg's great transit. Enjoy the video :)
