Can I apply to the German universities while being in the final year (7th semester)? Most probably I will get my 8th semester marksheet in the month of July and if yes then instead of provisional degree certificate what we have to submit while applying? Is there any demerits to apply with 7th semester or will you suggest to apply after graduation?
You can apply in 7th sem. Admission process varies from university to university. But mostly what universities do is to give you temporary admission based on your marksheets till 7th sem + take information about your 8th sem(like what subjects you willl study, what minimum GPA you are expecting etc) and then ask you to bring all (8) marksheets during registration time and show the proof of what you mentioned earlier.
Raounak bhai thank you for the all the info regarding scholarships in Germany, alternatively i have a question and i don't seem to find any answers anywhere, I have done my bachelors in computer science, I have a degree of BSC CS, by looking at the marksheets i see that my total credits is 20 per sem, that is 120 credits for 3 years (got 8.14 CGPA), i see that most unis are asking for 180 credits, i know that ECTS also contains self-study time, but do you think i will be able to apply and get selected for courses that are asking for 180 credits?? please answer it will be great help.
Usually 3 year degrees do not meet the requirements. You can try one thing to be sure. Use this calculator to convert your credits into ECTs: www.germangradecalculator.com/ects-calculator/ The self study time should be in your transcript or syllabus or credit calculation report.
Did you give GRE for the admission in TU Dresden ? I have given my IELTS exam, and now I am confused whether to study for GRE or focus on learning in German, as I have limited time left for applying, what would be the better thing to do to get an admission in MS computer science in some decent uni ?
I did MSc Distributed Systems Engineering from TU Dresden which doesn’t require GRE. Learning German is useless until the course you are interested in is asking for it as a requirement. Same goes for GRE. Like what I remember TUM and RWTH Achen ask for GRE, so if you want to apply in those then do give it. And no English taught program ask for German, so giving a German language certificate won’t improve your chances.
We need to make something out of it. If you go for specific DSE profile, then their aren’t many, at the same time their aren’t many DSE specialists either. DSE is a broad specialisation, unlike ML/AI. We can help scale SaaS projects as well as help run algorithms in parallel. So maybe companies like NVIDIA or Intel needs us to better utilise their hardware power. No one is looking for us. We need to see, how to apply what we have learned and then sell it.
