David Draman is a trained Jewish cantor. Simon and Garfunkle said this was the best cover of this song they had heard and that is high praise from them. This version has a much darker feel to it than the original. You should watch the official music video of this song by Disturbed even if it's not for a reaction. I promise that you won't regret it.

David Draiman...... A powerful yet soulful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime, which is incredibly difficult to do and he makes it look so damn easy! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before........just hauntingly beautiful and pure tonal properties to it! An awesome talent. Loved your reaction and your take on the performance Kabir. Try "Deceiver", "The Night", "The Game", "Indestructible", "Stupify", "The Light", "Enough", "Violence Fetish", "Stricken" by Disturbed too.

I purposefully avoided this song for a long time. David Draiman's style is usually kind of screamy, just not my thing really, so I couldn't fathom this song sounding good from him. Later I read that he wanted to perform the National Anthem at the Superbowl. Again, I couldn't imagine him sounding good singing it, and I wondered if he was serious about it, and I started doing some research, and found out he is classically trained Jewish Cantor, or hazzan. That's when my curiosity was finally aroused, and I listened to Sound of Silence for the first time. Now, I don't want to hear anyone else sing the National Anthem at the Superbowl. I hope he gets it this year.

This cover is great, but you HAVE to hear the original. Paul Simon wrote this song in 1964, and is easily one of the greatest artists ever. He has sixteen Grammys, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame twice (once with Art Garfunkel, once as a solo artist), and Rolling Stone magazine put him at number 8 in their list of the greatest songwriters of all time. Check out 'Bridge Over Troubled Water,' 'Mrs. Robinson,' 'The Boxer' and 'Hazy Shade of Winter.' For his solo work, the entire 'Graceland' album is not to be missed.

This brilliant cover was originally sung with hope that we would get Paul Simon's vision of a world where people would lose their willingness to communicate and we didn't listen. David Dramon's cover is darker and angrier than the original because we haven't listened imo. Positively brilliant! My recommendations would be to definitely listen to the original to get a better feel for yourself of Paul Simon's vision. To get a feel for where Disturbed and David came from ... 'Inside the Fire' with the video tells part of David's story that sheds light on his ability to tap into his emotions singing a song he's sung hundreds of times with the same passion every time.

Listen to Simon & Garfunkel's version, then disturbed, then Pentatonix. Each version is different. S&G is 1st warning, Disturbed is more of the firm warning that wasn't heeded from the 1st, then Pentatonix is the final, calming sort of melancholy since no one listened to the prior 2 warnings. David Draiman has such a phenomenal voice.

Mate, if you like hip hop and rap, you should check out the korean group BTS. There's a lot rappers and fans of rap/hip-hop reacting to them. You'd be surprised at how much you can connect to their songs, even if you're not from korea. You'd pull in a lot views with BTS too. They do a lot of different genres of music, but they have an extensive background in rap and hip hop. There's 3 rappers in BTS - they each have their own rap songs, as well as songs the 3 of them do together. You would be blown away by their rap skills. They write and produce their own songs. They also choreograph their own dances, as they have hip hop dance backgrounds. Most of their songs are primarily in korean, but they mix english into them. The 3 rappers of BTS did a rap song together called "Outro: Tear", it's very emotional rap song. You can watch the lyric video for it, as well as their live performance of it at Wembley in England, it's an amazing performance. One of their rappers is named RM, he did a song with Wale called "Change". The whole song is in english. RM also has his own korean rap song called "Joke", where he shows off his flow and make fun of the rappers who use nonsensical words and call it rap. RM was a top rapper in the underground rap scene in korea before BTS started. Another one of their rappers is named J-Hope, he did a song with Becky G called "Chicken Noodle Soup" (yes, it's a remake of the original song by Webstar and Young B). J-Hope was a top hip hop dancer in the underground dance scene in korea, and started rapping after he joined BTS.
