I drove from St. Louis to Nashville yesterday for the game. How many people in the world can say they saw Messi score, in a final, and take home a trophy? I dont care if it's MLS or not. I had to go. It was worth every penny!
Callender is the reason Miami won this and not just because of the pks. Nashville dominated the second half and arguably the first half (miami had like .06 xG) and Callender stood on his head to preserve a 1 goal lead. If not for him Nashville wins this thing 3-1, easy.
@@NahSonUrGoodhonestly outside of that defensive lapse and moment of brilliance by Messi, Messi was pretty much non existent in that match due to Nashville's defensive discipline. Seriously Nashville were the better team for 80% of that match. Calendar is the real player of this match...... Easily.
You don’t get how good this match was from these highlights. Nashville was the better team for 70mins. They defended very well, and we’re blistering on the counter. Hats off to Nashville.
Excellent reaction. I love the commentator, says "Oh oh," right when Messi gets the ball. I wanted to kill Campana. But, my InterMiami boys did it. League Cup Champions 🏆. Messi is the GOAT. Callender was spectacular for my Herons in the whole tournament. He might get a call from the US team
Nashville had the better of the chances, but not quite good enough finishing and a moment of brilliance by Messi sent it to PKs. These highlights show about all of Miami’s chances, but NSC had a few others-mostly off set pieces. Surridge had a real opportunity on a header from a corner.
19 and 20 year olds stepping up and taking pens for Miami under that pressure? 1(9)-1(10). Nail-biter! What a Final! Those pens had me stressed out, and I haven’t had the joy like that since 18 December 2022.
Appreciate you giving Nashville their dues for this their performance. As a Nashville fan we are so proud of our guys and it’s alittle disheartening to see so many reaction videos and networks acting like Miami ran away with the match instead of showing the fight that it was. Definitely gonna like and subscribe. Great content.
Yeah obviously the World Cup and Champions League is a bigger deal than the Leagues Cup, but this was perhaps the trophy that most shows off just how great Messi is because it shows how immediately he makes a team better. It was literally overnight they went from absolutely terrible to winning a cup
regardless of who you support at the end the day it was an AMAZING final between two amazing teams and it was an incredible finish to end it off with the goal keepers
Bangso, no need to explain where you are, just keep doing you. As for Miami making the playoffs, last night I heard some people speculating they need at least 9 wins and a draw in their last 12 games to have a chance at the playoffs. While difficult with Messi, Busquets, and Alba it seems attainable.
You can tell Robert Taylor has been playing with Messi, your absolutely right Taylor seems to be a different player now, his confidence is through the roof right now
Congrats to Miami but Nashville definitely outplayed them. Such an exciting match. Zimmerman played an incredible game and is the reason Nashville made it to pens.
Nashville SC only mistake was starting Dax McCarty. Outside of that Nashville SC absolutely outplayed Inter Miami and Messi was non existent outside of that goal. Inter Miami's keep Calendar is the real player of this match. The highlights don't actually give an accurate telling of how well Nashville SC actually played.
I only watch highlights of MLS now. 3 years Galaxy season ticket holder, 2 years LAFC. But this is dumb. It's just dumb. When the worst team in the league gets just 2 players and become unbeatable. Parity is out the window. It's gone. MLS defenses were already pretty cringy even compared to The Championship. Messi was running through 100 million Euro backlines just last season. There's literally no way for any team in this league to make a competitive team now. Not with the Saudi League spending more money than MLS and nobody worth their salt in Europe would napalm their own career by joining a team that isn't Miami now with Messi there. I'd rather watch USL. It's awful but at least it's fair. Shit I'd rather watch AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization). MLS isn't a league anymore, it's more like the other team that always plays the Harlem Globetrotters. Now it's just the Messi show. RIP American soccer
The mls is becoming more competitive and the academy’s are becoming more developed and Messi is bringing European and South American viewership and attention to the mls I wouldn’t say the mls is dying yeah Miami is prob the best team rn but every other team is still getting better and this was just the leagues cup not every team played to full potential
@@spenceraxbot1261 WTF are you even talking about? Miami is factually in Last place on the table in MLS Messi has yet to play a single game in league play. But yet, you are 100% confident in saying "they're the best team in the league". You literally just proved my point (thanks for that). The factual worst team in MLS buys just 2 players and it inspired you to call them the best team in the league and talk about it like it's a fact. See the problem? It exposes how bad MLS really is. It WAS a competitive league.but now it's not anymore. Not unless every other team in the league can buy a player just as good as Messi and a right back just as good as Alva. And that's not possible since there aren't any players like that. And as someone that's been following Major League Soccer since Cobi Jones played for the Galaxy I've watched for years how this league explained every decision that stunted it's growth in the name of exposure and pairity. Like when the Galaxy got Beckham. But at least then, Becks wasn't a world beater. I mean he was always a carnival trick, a gimmick. The worlds best free kick taker and a mediocre midfielder at best. But at least they appeased fans with "we're letting everyone buy a designated player". Back then, that worked but it was all in the name of money really. Not pairty. That's just the horse shit MLS told the fans. Then we finally get a competitive league and they bend over for the first money grab they can find w/ someone like Messi. If you think there's still parity, you're a naive child.
@@cerebrix Messi is 36. Also Miami had to rely on two PK's to get through. He and Miami are not unbeatable. The league has had other amazing players before and yes, they help teams. From Henry, to Villa to Beckham/Keane/Donovan trio to Drogba. There isn't a rule that says: s orry, this guy is TOO good, we can't try to get him to the league.
If you had watched the entire match you would have seen that Nashville actually outplayed Miami for the majority of the game and they played very good defense. They just were unable to capitalize on the chances they created. Also, Miami has had a weak schedule since Messi arrived. They still have not played a lot of the best teams in the MLS. Nashville have been their first big challenge really. But there’s alot more to come.
