I always tell people that MLS is one of the most fun leagues to watch. It’s on the rise quickly, but even though it’s not the best yet, there are worldie goals happening all the time and complete chaos

Top No. 9 is, by quite a large margin, NYCFC's Valentin "Taty" Castellanos. - 23 years old - Golden boot winner with 19 goals in the regular season - 8 Assists - 3 Goals in 3 games through the playoffs - MLS cup champion NYC recently rejected a $12.5m bid from Palmeiras, looking for an offer from Europe around $15-20m. Current interested parties include West Ham and Beşiktaş (who recently had an offer rejected) In terms of play, he doesn't necessarily draw the eye with 30-yard goals, step-overs, or overhead kicks, but he's always where he needs to be when he needs to be. He finishes well and has an incredible ability to draw defenders out of position and allow for more chaos in the box. He has an unbelievable ability to lose defenders and find himself open on free kicks as he did on the opening goal of this year's MLS Cup final. Other names you'll see thrown around heavily are Daryl Dike and Riccardo Pepi. Both are very good and have very strong potential, but are not on the same level as Taty. Comparisons most likely come down to the bias we Americans have towards our own players, and our tendency to hype up our young prospects a ton. Basically, if you want goals, Taty. If you want hold up play, Taty. If you want a man to open up space for a shadow striker or inverted wingers, Taty.

MLS was so exciting to watch this year. I think the league took a big step forward with people showing a lot more interest in soccer/football. My home state is adding a new franchise to the league the St. Louis City SC. Their stadium stadium should be completed in the spring 2022. I can't wait until next season.

Ricardo Pepi is probably the top striker to watch right now in MLS but he’s probably going to Europe this transfer window. Doubt he’d have more success than Lacazette but he is very young and has amazing potential

The best forward under 26 is Valentin Taty Castellanos, he's 23. He just won the Golden Boot on the season with 19 goals. (And the MLS Cup). Apparently Palmeiras put in a 12.5 million dollar bid in for him though.

Also Kabir. I would say MLS surpasses SPL because outside of Rangers and Celtics the quality in the SPL isnt as high as it once was. Its to the point now where if a young player moves direct to Scotland its considered lateral move and is oft questioned.

Fun fact: The goal at 1:46 and the goal at 4:38 were both scored on the exact same day. These two goals 5:29 and 5:02 were also on the same day. Those two were both scored on the final week of the season.

Lot of goals in there from Seattle. Just saying. It's so nice to start seeing the MLS get some respect from Europeans and people from the round-the-world, because the MLS is obviously starting to really pick up and deserves a little more respect. As someone who didn't grow up watching the sport but did learn about it by watching Premier League starting about twenty or so years ago, it's really fun to watch the sport grow here and start to become really competitive, and it's nice that more people from around the world are giving it a chance instead of just automatically assuming that because US doesn't have a long history with the sport, we're not automatically being considered second-rate anymore by everyone without even a look.

The top strikers to look at: 1. Ricardo Pepi(18)... he's seen as the wonderboy of the group. He scored 13 goals last season, and he has the most goals scored in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Reports are linking him to Wolfsburg for a fee of around $10 million. 2. Taty Castellanos(23)... He won the MLS Golden Boot with 19 goals. A lot of European teams are interested, but Palmeiras offered $12.5 million for him. I think it will take maybe about $20 million to buy the Argentine from NYCFC. 3. Daryl Dike(21)... the dude is a tank. He scored 11 goals in 19 appearances for Orlando City. He played great on loan at Barnsley during the 2020-21 season as well. Currently West Brom has offered him, but Leeds United are going to get involved soon. Ps: I think it would be cool if you reacted to these 3 guys, and tell us which one you would rather have.

What I don't believe Europeans realize is the number of talented Central & South Americans in their prime that play in MLS. They can earn bigger salaries here than in their own countries. That influx of skilled talent has been a catalyst for the vast improvement in the quality of play, which has also rubbed off on American players at all levels.

If your looking for a big, strong, and young number 9. Look no further than Daryl Dike. He is a 21 year old striker for Orlando who spent last season on loan with Burnley but returned to Orlando in the summer. He has even gained caps with the US National Team. You should react to some of his highlights.

TBF, while that Martinez goal was sick, it was against Cincinnati, they kinda make it look easy for opposing teams. Since joining the league, they have finished last all 3 seasons.

You're absolutely correct. While Rangers and Celtic are most likely better than every MLS team, I think the majority of the rest of the SPL loses to almost every MLS side. I think MLS is easily within the top 20 leagues in the world.

MLS U26 striker 🤔 Dike is going to West Brom on loan-to-buy, Castellanos will likely go Palmeiras or West Ham for $15m+, Pepi is going to Wolfsburg for $10m-$15m. That leaves your best options as probably Cristian Arango, Brenner (valued more than recent product), Ayo Akinola, or MAYBE Julián Carranza who we just brought in on loan from Miami
