Indonesian kue putu looks very different from us (Malaysia and Singapore) but the traditional methods of doing is more or less the same. I think you are right. That's my first time and last time I saw such stalls. I guess it all has to do with the hard work put in 👍
I guess these days if you let the tourists to stay at the brink of the caldera, I don't think the small town is able to take the huge crowd! I like how it is now personally. The small town still keeps its charm and immune from the on-slaughter of commercialization.
There is a statue of Indian deity Lord Ganesha at the edge of Mount Bromo Volcano Crater in Indonesia. It is believed to carry great significance to the people living around Mount Bromo as they believe that Lord Ganesha is their protector from this active volcano. According to legends, the idol was installed on the mountain by their ancestors around 700 years ago. To this day the Tenggerese people still make numerous offerings to the Ganesha in the hopes that it will protect them from the active volcano. Mount Bromo is therefore considered to be a very sacred mountain for the Tenggerese people. The volcano itself is named after Indian deity Lord Brahma which is pronounced Bromo by the East Javanese people. For that reason, there are numerous Hindu references that is planted by the Tenggerese up in Mount Bromo.
Yes I saw Lord Ganesha on top of the volcano mouth. Very impressed by the presence and the sheer rumbling of the volcano . I was only aware of the heavily influenced Hindu religious presence when I was there 🙏
How to book a train from Surabaya to Probolinggo? Which web site and are there any other options? I will be traveling in the month on July, we are two female travellers. Kindly help
I use ticket.com app to check out the train schedule. You can buy train tickets from that app. That said, the frequency of bus is much more , probably every 30 mins for bus. You just need to show up at bus terminal.
