@@central-city yes it somehow retains its 50's feeling with its rationalist architecture, too bad for the bad maintenance and the everpresent graffiti, but unfortunately its a common sight in Rome.

Yes it is. Recently open, but works are in progress, to extend it till Colosseum (connection with Line B) and Piazza Venezia (to access easily to the historical center, by walk) and further on to the River

@@DanielsUKT Metro Line C was opened in 2014 from Monti-Compatro Pantano (eastern terminus) to Parco di Centocelle, then extended to Lodi in 2015, then San Giovanni (change here for line A) in 2018. As Manuele points out, the line is currently being extended to Piazza Venezia, which should (hopefully, but we'll see because this is Italy you know) open in 2023 (or 2024 at the latest). This will include Colosseo station (Colosseum), the interchange station with Line B. The ambition is to extend this line as far out as the northwestern suburbs (Grottarossa is the planned western terminus). I've been on Line C (but for two stops, from San Giovanni to Pigneto). I want to do a full route visual of the whole metro line at somepoint!

Trains from line A and B are made by CAF, a Spanish manufacturer, which explains why you may see some similarities.

Sadly, some Line B trains are still covered in graffiti!

Thanks to the domination of milan, the money for the removal of graffiti was stolen from them, to enrich politicians, mafia members and to build works (later abandoned) in the north

Definetly no problem in my case too, when I last went (December 2021). But I did have a women, back in December 2012 at Manzoni station (Line A) saying lies that filming was illegal on Rome Metro (I've looked carefully at ATAC's conditions of carriage - only commercial and professional type photography and filming requires authorisation from the company).

@@MrGintaras in Bulgaria, the problem are the policemans.There is no official prohibition for filming in our metro with unprofessional camera or with phone.But our policemans are "over the law" and they make their own restrictions and regals. 😒😕😡 About Rome, I hope that there will be no prollblems to make some photos on stations and make several videos.😅😬

Effectivement ! Termini Linea B a son cachet et il en est de même pour une des stations EUR avec les arcades. L'éclairage en direction de la voûte est une réussite et mériterait une généralisation vers d'autres métros. Cependant on aurait pu garder quelques lanternes d'origine quitte à inséré des tubes Led à l'intérieur à titre historique. Les stations de la ligne A sont plus fades même si on note une architecture intéressante pour les stations à quais au milieu rappelant le métro londonien.

In realtà sono d’accordo, perché i graffiti danno quell’atmosfera underground un po’ particolare che ti sembra di stare in un video musicale di MTV degli anni ‘90. A me sono sempre piaciuti

i graffiti sono da stronzi e costano un botto in termini d'immagine negativa e costi per la collettività

Il problema sono i guasti, e comunque i graffiti sulle metro ormai neanche a new york (dove sono nati) non ci sono più

Rome graffiti seems to come in waves. Early 2010s they made sure the new trains were clean, then 2015/16 they didn’t bother, up until covid they then made sure all the trains were clean again, but now post covid it seems to be going downhill again

It happens in Barcelona too, many trains of the suburban train service of the Cercanias (Rodalies) have many graffiti tags on them

Come fai a dire una cosa del genere quando la metropolitana di Milano è 10 volte piu' squallida e degradata di quella di Roma. In Italia solo Napoli ha una bella metropolitana. Dopo arriva la linea C di Roma.

@@federicodadamo1716 I have only recently seen the Milan metro. Simple and efficient design of stations, great information system. Most stations are clean and well maintained. I really like the Milan metro.

@@jirimelnicky1472 M9ilan's metro now is a dumpster. Been damaged, burned down and the transportation company is bankrupt. Graffiti and puke cover all the trains. No wonder thousands of people leave the city in fear. Rome has instead become the best in Italy - both in terms o0f high tech and in terms of maintenance.
