Fantastic transport system in this city/country, train/tram's Drivers are more kind hearted person, whose feel to humanity & more sensitive, because they relieves to the Pedestrians to go before tram's/trains.... Really more obliged for this Beautiful & Informative video.... with thanks....
How are these building's serviced... how are deliveries made. I mean, its cute to see a little old-fashioned trolley but quite another thing for a driver to deal with a 5-set train running down the middle of a somewhat narrow street along the curb. (I guess that's the euro-mindset.)
Big trucks don't go in the city like that either with tram or no tram. But smaller trucks that usually park on the sidewalk in order to not obstruct traffic usually in hours that there isn't much traffic to begin with. That goes for roads that have or don't have a tram as long as the road os narrow. At least thats how i have seen. They usually have a spot that they know they can park for unloading etc. Compared to the USA the trucks may look small. Bigger than a van smaller than a truck. Something called "short lorry" with no trailer. There are solutions I don't know what they do in milan though. Even if there is a two lane road or three in my city double parked cars will transform the road in a negative way. It may be the euro-mindset especially compared to the north-American mindset. There are many single lane roads in my city only two have trams the others maybe hundreds dont and they get double parked so they make the single lane with tram faster anyways. Im giving this as context so you can compare what you see here with trams with something else that also exists here, compared to what you are used to seeing over there. Big lorries unload stuff at big depos on outskirts of cities and vans are driving around for deliveries in city centres. Also, front of main buildings look like you’ve seen on the vid, a road and a tram, on the back of each of those buildings you often have backstreets with no trams and back entrances of various businesses.
