Every time Stefano "talks like an American" with an Italian word, I crack up. The section on "Stefano" was priceless. The whole video was great. When I started learning Italian, I told someone that I wanted to speak Italian when I go to Italy. The reply was "Why..no one speaks it there." This video kind of refutes that view.
Hello, I need your help, which of these pronunciation is correct ?. Pèrugini (PÈh-ru-gi-ni) [1st syllable held the longest] or Pèrugini (pèh-ru-GI-ni) [2nd to last syllable held the longest].
Comincio a notare i diversi accenti. Video molto buono! Grazie! Un saluto da Campinas!
🇮🇹 One of the best videos I've seen on the topic. Thank you for reminding us as Italian language learners that the accent does not have to be perfect, I study a lot and strive for this constantly and have a hard time. Maybe I can ease up :) :) :)
In Portugal the accent variation is similar. The people in the North use more open vowels, but in the South, where I live, we speak a bit faster and with more closed vowels. It's interesting how linguistic variation exists even in smaller countries. IMO it's cooler that way, it would be boring if everyone spoke the same way
I come from Slovenia, one of the smallest European countries, however, accent variation is rich here! We speak 12 main accents, but even those vary from micro regions. There are even some that, when spoken completely authentic, cannot be understood to anyone. I think that's quite impressive for a language, only spoken by 2 million of people😁
I don’t know how but you make me confident about learning Italian now that I have to go to Italy. Thank you for your channel , will be in total attention for next videos , gracie
Bravo! Bravissimo!! I always watch your videos till the end my friend…and I’m learning l’Italiano very fast!🤙🏽 Here is your flag 🇮🇹 Now you know that I really watch and understood your language 🤙🏽 Grazie mille!
🇮🇹Bravo Stefano! Enjoyed the content. Still learning after a year. Not quite there yet to engage fully in conversation. This video kept me interested. My compliments on the topic and the ease of understanding on my part 😀. Best wishes for you from California! Romualdo T.
Ciao Stefano! Mi piace molto guardare i tuoi video.
🇮🇹 grazie! Thank you for the encouragement! I think a video for each of the regional accents would be interesting and helpful for us who will travel around Italy more!
🇧🇬 Watched the whole video, it was so useful. Thank you! I would love to hear about Sardinia‘s regional accent. I understand that Sardinians have their own language (some people call it a dialect) but I would love to know about the Sardinian accent when Italian is spoken there.
Grazie Stefano.
That used to be the case some 40 years ago but not nowdays. Currently you can hear different regional accents being spoken in the media and you are not expect to speak in received pronunciation. This guy explains it much better than I do ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g0qShxkuS7Q.html
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹❤️😀Grazie! Per favore continua a parlarci di accenti! Io adoro ascoltare accenti diversi.
When I spent time in Italy, there were occasionally comedians that would do an imitation of an American, say Bob Dylan. It is funny to hear them purposefully go into the American accent. And thus you did when you said how Americans pronounce your name, not just "Steff-ANNO" but with that round Americanization!
I have been teaching Portuguese to foreigners for a long time and love your approach and knowledge. Thank you for the great posts and true love for your beautiful language. I watched it til the end!!!!
Grazie mile.
Thank you very much for this lesson and explanation! I am American but my grandparents were from Napoli and Abruzzo so that is the dialect, especially Napolitano, that I heard as a child.
🇮🇪 That was a great video about regional accents. Made it to the end! Thank you. It's great exposure to listen to you speak about different interesting topics like this one. I am from the US and visited Italy for the first time recently, Rome, Naples, Sorrento, and Messina. I have been studying Italian for only about 8 months and I haven't been able to differentiate different accents yet. I can usually identify accents in Spanish after speaking it for many years so I know that will come eventually with Italian as well. What a beautiful language Italian is and what a treat to spend a week in Rome. I was able to order food and drinks in restaurants, ask directions, buy tickets, ask questions in a grocery store, and read signs but I'm not good enough yet to have full conversations in Italian. I hope to be able be at a conversational level in a year for my next visit to Italy, probably with more time in Tuscany than in Rome.
