Well played no matter win or lose its the effort that matters. India at this time doesn't have a high ranking women's badminton duo like Satwik/Chirag in Men's duo. Even if they were low ranking players they still tried to do their best and we should be proud of that. We have to pay attention and invest in our players and infrastructure including grassroot infrastructure.

It's the kind of money and technology that goes into making better athletes and not the size of population. If the kind of support like psychologist, physio, technical analysis throughout the training, and the kind of finance is given,then only can they perform.

Those who think Cricket is to be blame for all the decline, they should know that before India won Cricket World Cup, India had 8 gold medals in Olympic Hockey and even won the Hockey World Cup. So why didn't hockey gain the popularity. Because you need better management, better marketing skills, a strong board or organisation who can commercialise the sport and bring maximum sponsorship and money to the sport. Because at the end of the day when u pursue a sport as a career you will need money for a secure future. Cricket Board had done everything to make it popular whereas others couldn't. So the result is simple.

But, bad and unstable paranting; parents forcing their kids for studying day & night to take rank-1; never supported from family for sports; most school's not caring about sports training especially Gov. Schools; desperatation for ranks and grades; lastly extreme desperation for Gov. Job preparation... All these have a mojor role in snatching sports from Indians...

Lakshya is at par with his skills while we have such players not even qualifying post round of 16. Stop blaming the infrastructure, goverment bla bla. What kind of external support you need to have your serve inside the court? Ponnappa isn't even hitting like how an international player is supposed to play. She literally kept making mistakes like a rookie does lol. No infrastructure or coaching gonnq teach you the very basis of badminton if you lack the will to win the match.
