im 29.. my first time watching japanese mens team was in world cup 2015.. to compare with 2019 WC rosters, there’s huge gap difference in abilities were noticed.. and now 2022 VNL, there’s that big gap were made from 2019.. make me wonder how was team japan played volleyball during 2000-2015 period..watch it, & they’re not even close to 2018 japan when they started to add more younger players with talent to the squad.. its a revolution for the team.. its weird that they even kept shimizu in the squad until last year with Miyaura were the closest candidate to replace him while nishida practically took the first 6 opposite hitter position from him in 2019..

They are the generation that grew up watching the "Haikyuu" manga and anime. They probably differed from other generations in the number of opportunities they had to experience and share the fun and enjoyment of volleyball. Even if their parents or siblings are not involved in volleyball, they choose to play volleyball. They choose to play volleyball not because they are reluctant to play baseball or soccer, but because they want to play volleyball and be active in the sport.

it's crazy that he just keeps getting better when he's already basically the best player on the team. he earned and keeps earning that captain title.

He really buffed his shoulder and back muscle, I notice he changed his spike form after he suffer that leg injury

長年思っていることだけど，日本とカナダのバレーって実はレベルやスタイルが似ているのかなーという気がする。 毎回対戦してみないとどちらが勝つかわからないし（去年のVNLはカナダの圧勝），試合中も第1セットであったような長いラリーが結構頻発しているイメージがある。

ハイライトだけ見てるとセッターかなって思いました(というかセッティングがスパイカーとズレてる)

The 2nd left hand spiker is an OP, substitute for NISHIDA..and for OH2 it will be OTSUKA or RAN,..so far OTSUKA was the one whose doing well both offense and defense...ran was good in reception that was his strength but not in offense,..thats why you see OTSUKA the one who starting lately.
