Thank you! We are planning a trip this year and I found this to be the most helpful RU-vid video so far. I really appreciate that you included practical and descriptive shots. And I see you and your family are lovely people, but thank you for thinking of your audience and not making the video mostly about yourselves like so many other RU-vidrs! :D Looking forward to your next video
@@eileensworld Hello Eileen, I've taken beginners Japanese and am looking for the right time for my family to travel with me. Hopefully this year ! looking forward to more video's...
@@AlexKeith17 wow good for you! Japan is definitely a place where knowing some Japanese will be extremely helpful. I can’t wait for you and your family to experience Japan!
Best travel video , Eileen , and I watched quite a few . You listed all the things that others may find it useful , even for kids and oldies ! I like the expression on your face too , you are genuine !!
Found your vlog as I'm doing a research of what's new in Osaka for the family..... I was there in 2016 but things might have changed after COVID..... Still informative & helpful as wel.... Cheers ... From Singapore & Malaysia!!
great episode! Really enjoyed this one as myself is going through similar process as you exploring the world while semi retired. I normally stay in the northern umeda area in Osaka when I visit so it's informative to see more southern districts oriented content. Kyoto tho, took me around 9 days in february to fully enjoy. There are just so many gems (sometimes hidden) there. I highly recommend starting around Gion area, which Nohga is a great hotel with an amazing restaurant (cicion) as a base for exploration. While there, I highly recommend hopping on a train to Uji for a day trip. Uji s got some great bakeries and food. The most most insanely delicious thing ive tasted is a Duck Burger and Duck Shabu. All in the same shop. seriously one of the best things I've ever had.
Japan has a rich history and it is really one of the places on my bucket list! I'm excited to see what you are going to upload next as I want to see how your trip went! Also, have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane. I've been using this bag as my personal item bag for months now and it is such a hack. I tried using packing cubes and they are amazing but now I switched to a duffle bag. Tried Nomad Lane's Bento bag and it's a good choice!
I have been to Osaka and around Japan. However I find this video very refreshing and easy to follow. I miss it and look forward to return one day! Thank you Eileen!
I really enjoyed watching your videos. We are planning a trip to Japan in the spring and your videos were so helpful and entertaining. I like how you include prices for everything. Thank you!
your father 😂😂😂 he reminds me of mine thats exactly what he would have done leave the resturant if there is any ciggarette smoke. I love how animated Japan is!
I’m getting the impression that your favourite subject might have been the food 👌😂😂😂 not that I mind, I actually enjoy it. And thx for listing all the prices. I’d like to go to Japan next October, so this is giving me lots of inspiration ❤
@@asheirahs_nook yes! Kyoto and Tokyo is a great start. And yes - you can easily spend allllllll your monkey in Tokyo (between the food, 100 yen stores, claw machines etc)
Hi Eileen! thanks for the amazing Osaka travel guide! I'm going to Osaka soon, just wondering if it was convenient walking around in the kimono as you visit the main tourist attractions for a whole day, and any recommended kimono rental shops?
I rented from VASARA in both Kyoto and Tokyo and had a good experience. They have a location in Osaka too. I didn’t rent in Osaka but try to find a rental shop close to where you want to take photos. That way, you don’t have to rush back to return the kimono on time!
Awesome Vlog 😉🤍 just want to ask for your opinion only~ for first timer to visit japan better go to Tokyo or Osaka first 🤗 cuz i only have to choose one only haha plus i still got confuse cuz both city are superbb
Hi thank you so much for this video! I have a question. So, this summer I'm planning a solo trip to Osaka, but I also want to visit some other places like Kyoto, Teshima, and Tottori. I'd like some tips and advice on traveling there, as well as an effective route to reach all these destinations. Should I go to Osaka → Kyoto → Teshima → Tottori, and then back to Osaka, or is there a better way? I appreciate your help! Thank you.
Hi there! I have not been to Toshiba or Tottori so I don’t have any insight to share with you. Osaka to Kyoto is around an hour by train so super easy to get back and forth from. I know many people who fly into a larger city (Tokyo or Osaka), travel around, and then go back to the city they arrived in before they leave
I’m doing a 14 day trip in Japan and I want to see so much but I know it’s impossible because 7 days can be easily sunk into Tokyo. Would you recommend b-lining to Osaka as soon as you land and then go to Tokyo or stay in Tokyo then go to Osaka? I also plan on visiting amori and Akita while in Japan this November.
14 days is a lot more than what most people get to spend in Japan so you can definitely see a lot. I always land in Tokyo, spend time there, then I take the Shinkansen to Osaka. Where are you flying into?
@@eileensworld Narita, I know it makes more sense to spend time right when you land especially with so much to do in Tokyo but I also want to see stuff both south and north of Japan. Northern japan doesn’t get enough credit. I’m going this November
That’s awesome, there’s definitely more to discover outside of the major cities. It looks like you have your cities picked out but I really loved Hokkaido, maybe in the future for you 🤭
Hey Mark, try this website: smart-ex.jp/en/ My preferred method of buying a ticket is to purchase it at a station office directly. Major stations (Shinjuku) will have larger offices with english speaking employees who can help.
Hi. Is there a place I can get dressed, makeup and have photos as a Geisha? We are traveling next year and need to know which documents we must have. We take prescription meds. Thanks 🙏 😊
