When Kikuichi (Sorry if i spelled wrong) holding the babies with the background of fire old man house, amd its remind him of the past. Touchy moment, and materpiece cinematography
Bought the two vhs set for thirty dollars in the late 80s, when thirty dollars was a lot of money. Never even once did I regret the purchase whatsoever.
Its true! it is a magnificent movie! when I started watching it I could not stop, It's sooo easy to become fully invested in it from the characters, to the story. I'm usually bored with black and white films, but Akira's works are an exception. The weird thing was, that I've already seen 7 samurai, in varius different formats and iterations but I still felt that this was the best.
He made dramas, noirs, fantasy, horror, but Akira Kurosawa was mainly the best action director ever. The best. Seven Samurai is the best example, especially because he never sold action for action, his stories are about loyalty, courage, human beings, human rights and human condition.
If you like Akria Kurosawa, check out some of his work that was inspired by the plays of William Shakespeare. "Throne of Blood" in particular is AWESOME! (It was based on the tragedy play "MacBeth").
