Best provinces in my opinion: 1. Siem Reap (Temples, Pub street, waterfall) 2. Sihanoukville (Beach and islands) 3. Kampot (Mountains, pepper farms) 4. Mondul Kiri (Mountains and stunning waterfall) 5. Battambang (Banon mini trains, temples)
Nice one Chai. Really friendly people a great start to the adventure and fancy meeting up with the Scottish lad in his tuk tuk , a beer or two and some useful advice. Great start to an exciting time in Cambodia. Looking forward to it champ !! Did Ilona go too at a later time than this video? 🤩
Thanks mate! That Scottish lad who crashed the show was a bonus 🤩 also just arriving and meeting some of the locals as well was obviously one of the highlights 😁 Ilona arrived as well by no 😍
Really enjoyed the journey to Phnom Penh appreciate you showing the costs and the Tuk Tuk ride , the driver was a nice man - it looks busy & entertaining - Thanks Chai 👌👍🙏😃👋
Welcome to Cambodia, our country is safe place but please be careful with your belongings/bag/or phone. The rubber is somewhere😀 (every country have rubber). Hope you enjoy here !
Hi. I am going to Phnom Penh on 22 -26 May and it is around Vesak day. Can you please share with me how the locals celebrate Vesak day and where? Thank you.
Lots of nice places in that part of the world. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal. …..all of them are very much worth seeing and spending time. 🌴😃✈️
Thank you :) I will. For sure I’ll highlight the good things but, I also like to show real Cambodia. Especially how it is to travel in. So far so beautiful ❤️🏆
Thanks for watching mate :) yes, I had Smart and my GF had CellCard. Both worked okay almost everywhere we went. We were pretty surprised as you here mixed stories. :)
Thanks and likewise 🤩 it was super nice to meet you. Hopefully our paths cross soon again. Good luck with your channel brother. I’m looking to see your first upload in South East Asia 😃 cheers and stay champ 🏆
10 bucks was fair for airport prices with a new tuk tuk, i went in 2017, i remember watching Harald baldrs video before i went for some information hahah, i think i paid 6 bucks but i had walked outside the airport, i stayed riverside at the harmany hotel, it has a nice infinity pool that looks out at the river, will be there in around a month or so, cant wait
Haha perfect! The official price is $9.- but if you walk two minutes across the road from the airport and get a tuk tuk trough the Pass App, you’ll be able to go for 4 dollars into town 😁 cheers Belv
Some people think it’s worth it to spend extra and have a travel agency do it for you. At immigration by the airport…you better have all the correct documents and answers to questions. They are EXTREMELY picky and thorough at immigration. Now and again people get turned down. Travel agencies in Cambodia can smooth over all the rough edges. SIM cards….. I went with CELL in Cambodia, and TRUE MOVE in Thailand. Happy with both.
@@falcc1 I remember needing one. But it’s a good idea to have at least a couple extras with you. If you don’t have one, they will take your photo, but charge you for it. I always carry five or six spare passport photos. It doesn’t hurt.
Subscribed & liked 99. Scammers always scam no matter where we are. Do your research before the trip can save money and headaches no matter Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia or even USA. If you are walking at night alone in big city flashing with your nice camera, phone, or gold necklace, you can get robbed or even killed here in US. At least you do not have to worry about mass shootings in that part of the world. Be mindful and be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. Life is short to do the things we don't love doing but life is very precious. Most of my family members did not survive there. I left there since 1979 after surviving the genocide there and I have returned to visit the country and the world after m;y retirement. Peace out and happy travels!
Wow, I’m sorry to hear about your family ❤️ thank you for this message and I hope I can add some value to some of the videos I’m making 🙏 thanks for watching too 🏆
You should be fine. There is not much kidnapping going on. Be a bit more careful after 11pm when you’re out in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. The rest of Cambodia is super safe at all time in my experience and what I’ve heard from countless other foreigner travelers and locals 🙂
@@Chai_Travel The Kidnappers are targeting Chinese Mainlanders and Hong Kong tourists, cause the underground casinos are trying to bridge a pipeline for online gambling and money laundering between Cambodia and China. If you don't look Chinese, they probably leave you alone and the news probably doesn't get into your ears. The news is different in my circle. Be careful everyone. Travel in groups and don't drink anything random strangers offer and watch out for people spiking your drinks.
Cambodia is no different to any of the 15 countries, you find the usual pick pockets, con men and women, taxi drivers who try a rip you off playing on your ignorance of the currency value, but 9 times out of 10 Cambodians are honest, if you go to a massage parlor do not take a lot of money as there are a few that will rob you, compared to 10 years ago it is more safe and motor bike crime where they used to come up along side you and steal your bag, the streets are also cleaner and less roaming dogs.
Hi Chai, im very excited to see you exploring Cambodia, - i want to go there next year. Always appreciate your work on your channel, i love all your doing on giving us a glimpse on diff. places - good and bad . Enjoyable staying in Cambodia, of course later with lovely Ilona !💞Thy! 🙏🙏
Thanks so much 😍it’s great to hear you’re putting Cambodia on your list for next year :) hopefully some of the videos can be useful and most of all entertaining 😜 have a beautiful day and night 🏆

As a traveller that has constantly come to Cambodia, I can say it brings many good memories. I can say though it was so funny that tuktuk driver says saying no to scam but then scams you for $10 its usually around $5 use Grab next time :)
Thanks for sharing! I do have to say that Pass is even cheaper. I went to the airport a few times from the center of Phnom Penh for 12k/ 3dollar. But the normal taxi tuk tuks are 9dollars as explained in the video 🙏
If you have an E wallet of an email with the boarding passes it's also good. Just a print screen they might ask you to go pass a counter of your flight company to print the boarding passes. (I just travelled with a print screen this time).
Welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭 ❤ For culture you can go to visit at Siemreab province, and we have a nice beach at Sihanouk Vil, Koh Rong beach it’s very beautiful , please have a nice in Cambodia 🇰🇭 ❤

No :) I do recommend it though. Over all South East Asia is very safe but you never know 🙏 here is a good one if you’re looking: safetywing.com/nomad-insurance/?referenceID=ChaiTravel&ChaiTravel&Ambassador
VOA for Cambodia is $30 for a Tourist type T visa, and is payable in US$ only. Make sure your US$ are in good condition, no tears or marks on the notes. The Ordinary type E visa is $35. People coming Into Cambodia as a tourist for a stay of 30 days or less only need a type T visa.
Nice! The taxies or tuk tuks on the airport property are very safe to use. The cheapest way to travel around is by the Pass app which I recommend downloading. Maybe you can start using that the day after and just use the taxi service offered at the airport if you are worried about safety 😊 it’s only 9usd to get to town.
That was the specific price for airport tuk tuk cos they had to pay for other service too if you looking for the outside tuk tuk it is more cheap but maybe have to spend time to find and truthless too
1 dollar? Some apps do it for 3.50 usd if you leave the airport and wait outside. The pour driver won’t earn anything if you only give him 1$. Maybe 10 years ago, but it has definitely changed.
@@Chai_Travel I was also with a local who knew the hustle. I would have paid 10 if i wasn't told that was bad. 2 or 3 of the drivers tried to show us pictures of kids in the hospital saying its theirs and please give extra.
@@Chai_Travel I get that. I dont have travel history, I only travelled once to Bangkok so still learning the whole airport process. I did not get my bag scanned at Bangkok and kept wondering if I had done something wrong.
Never been to Phnom Penh. When I flew to Cambodia and Thailand from Cambodia from Toronto, Canada, I first had to land in Shanghai, and then I got another flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Spent a couple of months in that area, and then took the Giant Ibis bus cross country through Poipet, and then to Bangkok. Missed Phnom Penh all together. Next time…. Phnom Penh. Namo Buddhaya 🙏🏼 ☸️
Good tip :) It's even cheaper if you get a grab from the street just of the airport I've figured :D Just a 3 minute walk from straight from the exit. (Pass App is even cheaper) :) Thanks for watching and saying hi 👋
