ALL THE COMMENTS JUST MAKE ME VISIT AGAIN #CAMBODIA AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND AND DISCOVER THE HIDDEN SPIRITUAL BEAUTY AND MIGHTY HERITAGE, DEEP UNDER VIOLENT CENTURIES
Thank you for watching! 🙏 Appreciating! It was hard to decide what to cut but I’ll put some sections, as anyone to jump easily exactly where is interested 🎬

I left the country back in 1979 after I had to live through the genocide under Pol Pot killing madness. Most of my family members did not survive as we were forced to move out of the Phnom Penh City in 1975 to work in the rice fields. I've returned to visit my sole surviving sister every year for the last ten years since my retirement from the US to heal the past. It's very safe to visit Cambodia now as the country has come a long way since the prolonged civil war was officially ended upruptly in 1998. Be mindful of your surroundings . Be kind whenever possible. It's always possible as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Happy and safe travels from a genocide survivor ✌️
Thank you for your comment … 🙂🙏❤️ To be honest I met first person from Cambodia, for the first time in my life in 2012, in Dubai, and I felt a unique sense of kindness, of open heart outside the circumstances we’ve met. I told myself thar one day I have to visit the country. It happened for the first time in 2023 when I visited PP and recently I was again, in January 2024, in Siem Reap, Angkor ancient city, temples, etc Indeed the people are very kind and you can feel a unique authenticity and kindness and not hard to understand how much suffering was some time behind. I believe always in the history of humankind have been times of rise and decline, decline and rise, cycles of joy and sorrow, evil periods and from the deepest darkness a tiny ray of light, a small hope bringing back peace and love. Hope the good times came now for Cambodia, a long period of peace and the people will leave better and better. If you want to visit some places there, I am always glad to join you and visit with pleasure again and again and to listen to some authentic life stories from alive witness of that times. As long I’m still in South East Asia it’s not so difficult for me to travel there …
Hi Janette! Thank you for watching. Maybe a bit long the video in Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🙂 But I think it’s a worth travelling destination. Neither Russian or Polish. 😀😀 I was born indeed in Eastern Europe but latin county. The only latin country in East surrounded by slavic countries. 😀
Hi. Thank you for watching It was 3 weeks ago Actually in Cambodia I noticed, everywhere the prices are in USD, so … if you have USD is kind of enough. Or you can change there from USD or any currency to local money, Cambodia Riel
Hi, I don’t remember exactly but i think grad is the safest, as the price is fixed and paid by bank transfer, directly. You are not subject of negotiations, looking at you that you are foreigner, and asking 4 times more. I can tell you about Jakarta, if you saw my video from Jakarta. There, the taxi from Airport to Hotel was 3 times more than the same route by Grab taxi.
@@rachitchhorn8616 You're right, but I heard from the Gov that they just finished the subway train and sky train project which mean the plan will happen!
Everything, including the airport and tall buildings, is owned by the Chinese. Because Cambodia owed debt to China and could not pay, China came to control Cambodia as a mountainous country and granted concessions. And seeing that the culture is similar to Thailand because Cambodia was once a colony of Thailand and Cambodia copied almost everything from Thailand, and Cambodia is said to be the origin even though the country was only founded less than a hundred years ago. It therefore makes Cambodia ranked as an underdeveloped country because it keeps imitating Thailand and forgets its own roots.
Don't listen to this guy, Cambodia was NEVER a Thai colony, as a matter a fact...the Thais migrated from southern China (Yunnan Province) and migrated to mainland southeast Asia such as kingdoms like the Khmer empire and other Mon kingdoms. The Tais (Thai) absorbed Khmer/Cambodian culture since they migrated. The Tai Siamese established their own kingdom shortly after called Sukhothai, the FIRST Thai kingdom around the late 13th century. If you take a look at the Thai language, there are over 350+ Khmer/Cambodian loan words in the Thai language due to Thais being influenced by the Khmers🙄 The Thais only became indianized thanks to the Khmers. Calling Cambodians not knowing their own roots when you Siamese don't even know your own roots. And the reason why Cambodia is "undeveloped" is because Cambodia has had 10 TIMES more wars than Thailand, strongest war that changed Cambodia forever was the war between Ayutthaya and the Khmer empire (causing the fall of the empire).
Found cheating in Khmer? I want to know. Cambodian people see Thai people as enemies. But everything depends on Thailand. All culture is taken from Thailand. Cambodian culture has disappeared a long time ago. Nowadays, Thai culture Cambodia has come to claim this without any evidence. Very disgusting to Cambodian people.
Both Khmer and Thai communities need to understand that our cultures have influenced each other since a long time ago. Siamese were under the rule of the Khmer their the Khmer empire. That’s where they got muay thai, sak yant (sacred tattoos), their scripts and many things. Then after the fall of the Khmer empire, the opposite happened. The Khmers were under the Siamese and got influenced by them. That’s where they got some of their traditional dances, traditional orchestra like Pinpeat (piphad in Thai), and many thing else. But it does not mean that the 2 cultures are the same. No. They both conserved their authenticity but we can see the influences they got from each other.
@@Th.22183 The first thing you should understand is the Khom Empire. Not Khmer. The Khmers are a group of people who came to live in the area believed to be the center of the Khom Empire after the Khom had fallen. And the Khmers claim it. Much of Thai culture has been influenced by India. Thailand creatively developed it and became Thai culture today. But the Khmer people claim that the good and beautiful Thai culture belongs to Cambodia. As for martial arts, Martial arts are everywhere in this area. Thailand, Myanmar and Laos have different names. Muay Thai brought ancient boxing to create rules and spread it until it became popular all over the world. But Khmer boxing copied the rules of Muay Thai. Everything and claiming to be the origin of Muay Thai without any evidence. Copying Thai culture and everything. Do you think Cambodians are disgusting?
