I've been to both and Japan is a lot easier. One of the main things I remember is that a lot of shops and convenience stores had a large step to get in, so I'd have to leave my wife outside in her wheelchair while I got snacks / drinks. The side paths in Japan also seem smoother and almost always have dropped kerbs. All things considered Korea is still very much worth it though!
I think this is a wrong concept to compare two countries. Each country has its own charm but if you put this kind of video people are going to say Korea is better or Japan is better. They will fight. And you are the one who initiated I hope you come up with a different idea. Good luck
Of course, Japanese are kind to foreigners. But now things have changed. Japanese landlords will not give foreigners a place to stay in their apartment. There is a video that I saw yesterday. Japan is really expensive and much more than Corea.
It hurts deeply to see any outsiders without any historic knowledge of Korea to compare Korea to Japan. When Japan occupied Korea, they destroyed the King's palace and built their government office in front of it. They also burnt down Sungnyemun. They murdered our queen and built a gigantic prison in the middle of Seoul to imprison and execute Korean civilians. Japan also stole milions of relics from Korea and confisticated lands from Koreans. They demolished Korean Buddhist temples outside of Seoul and built Shinto temples. Korea was faced with Korean war after Japan pulled out of Korea after WW2. Korea was completely destroyed with casualities of 1/3 of Korean population. And it was 1953 when the war was over. Korea didn't have any city infrastructure back then. Korea didn't even have any highways 60 years ago, and had no cars. People with disabilities didn't ride in wheelchairs but were carried on the back of the their families. And there were so many wounded after Korean war. Korea also went throuh fastest modernization after Korean war. Korea was still a developing country by the end of 20th century. It is a miracle that Korea has laws to protect anyone including people with disabilities and to have things like elevators in every building. Give Korea a break. And please don't even compare Korea with Japan that strted modernizing from the 19th century. There is literally 100 year difference. Korea has been doing its best. It's not easy to modernize and establish democracy in such a short time. Comparing Korea from Japan isn't fair. But in the 21st century, Korea is more technologically advanced and because of its late developement, there are more homes with cutting edge technologies. Japan is also three times bigger than Korea with more than twice the population of Korea. Korea still has a long way to go. But I know they have been doing their best. Give Korea some credit. Most of South East Asian countries were 200 times richer than Korea 60 years ago, but failed to establish disability friendly i frastructure that Korea has. Remember, Korea was once the poorest country in the world in the 60s. Japan was the world richest country and they could bounce back through Korean war. So STOP COMPARING THE TWO COUNTRIES.
