There should be more idols like Dreamcatcher, they are amazing, they look healthy, natural and they eat a lot😊 I love them they are a great influence❤❤❤

It’s is awful that everyone measures themselves by other. So there is no individuality because everyone care to much about what others think of them and to much pressure in the society is put on it people. To look and act a certain way.

I got into Kpop a few years ago and fell in love with it, started learning the language as I’m also quite into linguistics and learning about language. At first I was like “oh man I’d love to go there some day”, but the more I learned about the society the less I wanted to go…the obsession with appearance being the main deterrent. I know not everyone is like that but it’s so prevalent.

This is why I love living in the us. Even if you don’t brush your hair most people don’t say anything about it. There is also a lot more body positivity here accepting that all sizes are beautiful.

I hope and pray things are just going better for the Korean people who are impacted in negative ways by this kind of toxic mindset.😊

I will always be thankful that my parents never shamed me for being a certain weight. What they put emphasis on, was that I was doing enough physical activities, understanding what and how I eat and sometimes reminding me to eat. I cannot thank my parents enough for making me have a healthy relationship with food (which they themselves did not have)

Isnt this the same in most asian countries? For me it isn't collectivism or lookism but plain old judgemental attitude that many asians have. I am an indian living in US and I face this every time I facetime with my family or travel to meet them. They say "you look tan or fat" in a concerned tone. If they say "are you execersing daily, you look so thin" in a cheery way, I consider it a pleasant exchange 😅

This is a lot of pressure! I can't imagine having to live like this, but I'm sure there are some Koreans who don't care about the stereotypes and expectations, right? I've seen those fitness guys not fitting in the typical Korean desirable appearance as described, but to me they're more attractive.

Self hate, there seems to not to be any love for humanity in Korea. Like kindness to fellow humans, they look down upon single mothers, orphans and etc.

I think they should change that to prevent people from being bullied and should not do plastic surgery as that can lead to bad consequences. If people aren’t happy about their weight then that’s a low self-esteem. I always try to keep my weight good by eating healthy food and going for walks etc. I’m just giving my opinions about this, so please don’t hate or criticise me for saying this. I also have special needs and I am sensitive

Oh dear.. I kept hearing about these ridiculous beauty standards! I mean just why the obsession?? I believe self-love is the most important thing a person should have and not just relying or following trends just to please someone or to look like their kpop idol! Also, I've watched videos from foreigners sharing their daily life in Korea, that "some" Koreans are behaving rudely to foreigners. From what I have observed, they see white people from America or from Western countries equal, but if you are people of color, some treat u differently. Although I'm glad that there are still Koreans that are open-minded and very welcoming! I'm really planning to start my career in Korea so watching these contents can help me prepare my well-being from unexpected encounters.

When people meet, they usually start conversation with concern about gaining weight. I think we should consciously not to say things about weight.
