Hi Owen. Yes, they don't even being bothered with photography unlike other airlines who sometimes feel pissed off and told me to switch off my camera. and thank you btw
Travelstar98 Gaudi with PAL they somehow love the cameras lol. same experience here, never had a bad experience with them. I was stopped before when flying Tigerair PH lolz. I was trying to record their safety demo. Somehow I just manage to record it discreetly :)
Nice video with great detail just a little too long. Yes the planes average 15 years old and were built for Iberia (Spain) and were best suited for mid range flights. The seats are old style but really comfortable. I loved these planes with a max of 260 pax. Quick to load with 2+3+2 seating down the back. Never mind the usual limited movies on IFE, these planes were never configured so it was much easier to load up your iPad. The WIFI really never worked regrettably. NOW PAL are using a tri-class configured A330. All seats have IFE and Premium Economy is good value for the money. Well worth flying.
What people don't know is that the A340 does feature inflight entertainment. You could download the FREE PAL myPAL Player from both the App Store and Google Play and you could freely and easily track your flight, watch movies and tv shows as well as listen to music. Just make sure to bring an external charger. Really simply and free. Some flights in the A340 also features FREE iPads for anyone who wants to get one. The iPads contain entertainment as well.
rockstarmiento Well the A340 doesn't have PERSONAL IFE'S, and the iPads are only for business class but if they are some extra iPads they try to gave it to the passengers. Well the A340 will be replaced to a A350
no ipads nothing just pull down window shades and forced to go to sleep very boring and nothing is free its included in the ticket cost nearly 8 hours sitting down looking at a the back of the seat pal needs inprovement
maynedmaynards They give meal menu's to the passengers but maybe because the FA's were busy or run out of maybe because that's why. The Amenity kits is now only given to the business class passengers, I'm not sure but it depends on other aircrafts
I will fly to sydney this mid sept 2017. Hopefully PAL will use the newly reconfigured A330-300HGW. I always fly with PAL. Domestic and Intl. Service is ok. Inflight meals and unlimited drinks. Cabin Crew sometimes assist me when I want to transfer seats rather than paying the whopping $50 seat.
I can't believed this Airbus is still being used in Manila to San Francisco Flight PR114 today. I was on PR114 last April and there is still no individual onboard entertainment screen, they only lend you an old and slow Ipad to used. Mine was even broken and had to request for another one.
they used a common screen in the front so I can't even see so I didn't bother to watch. I was told by the attendant that PR114 always used the same Airbus that has no individual onboard screen and advice me not to take PR114
The point is no INDIVIDUAL entertainment screen like all other international flight that has individual entertainment screen so you can watch the movie you like .
Of course I know that. Just would like to know the current situation of the overhead TVs. Since they changed the safety video, the overhead TV is off until they should put the safety demo manually. You can try searching it on my PR1861 video
i flew on a330 to manila and home a340 both boring they gave headset on a340 but a330 nothing these planes should on domestic routes only not long haul flights to old it reminds when i used to fly on pals dc-10 syd -manila that plane was old and so are the a340s we are in 2017 not 1989 please pal give better service to all your paying public any great vid really like it keep making them
The A340s PAL bought in the mid-90s were sold and replaced by six old A340s bought from Iberia. Buying the same type of old and inefficient jet defies logic, especially since most airlines were scrambling to get rid of their A340s. Iberia, Spain's flag carrier, was lucky enough to find a buyer in PAL.
Saya selalu menggunakan app flightradar24 jika ada masa terluang, Philippine Airlines satu-satunya penerbangan antarabangsa yang selalu melalui ruang angkasa bandaraya kuching, sarawak menuju ke jakarta...
My opposite neighbour flew with Philippine A340-300 and I was flying with Qantas Airbus 320-300. She told me that Philippine Airbus 340-300 is built with free WI-FI? Is this true? :D

Ansett4Sims my flight from Cebu-LAX last August 2016 didnt have a wifi...the pal flight attendant told me only on their 777 and their a330 has the Wi-Fi
Are you serious?? Long haul flight no LCD at the back seat? That must be very boring. Who cares of the smiles of the flight attendants. I need quality entertainment during the flight. Stupid chinese owner Lucio Tan is destroying the image of PAL.
