Filipinos are always smiling there's a famous line in Tagalog"Bawal Sumimangot'(Smirking/Pouting is Prohibited)they believed it will ruin their day if they don't smile back.Corn is the 2nd staple food of Filipinos since it doesn't need too much water and flat terrain to grow unlike rice.

When you go back to Cebu, you can go to restaurants with the word "Sutukil" which means they sell seafood ranging from clams, shrimp, lobsters, octopus, tuna, bangus, etc. They are generally expensive but you get so much choices. Glad to see you guys have fun again.

Glad that you have now discovered the delicious seafoods from Roxas City. It is indeed the seafood capital of the Philippines. When our family from Mindanao visit relatives in Roxas City, they always treat us to a feast of seafoods , some of which could only be found there.

The corn you eat is native here in the Philippines, It is called Lagkitan which means sticky, the yellow one is called Sweet Corn which is redundant or the usual you see being sold! 😊😊😊

glad you enjoyed my province. I try to go back at least once a year!! the beach has less tourists than boracay. not white sand, but it's more peaceful so I like it better. and the seafood prices aren't as big as bora. ahh right you should have tried batchoy in roxas! another iconic soup dish

You will see lots of beautiful and colorful fiesta parade during January on the feast day of Sto. Nino called ati-atihan, in kalibo, aklan while dinagyan in Iloilo. Lynn loves tuna, you can also check Tuna Festival in General Santos City where you can have a feast of tuna in the street. You can also bjy different variety of tuna products and it's way more cheaper to buy tuna products than other cities. Also for cheap shrimp, lobster and crab try Surigao del Sur where you can find cheaper crabs, shrimp and lobster aside from that you can also taste high class fish where in malls are too expensive. Mindanao has a lot to offer just try to explore Mindanao. 😊

Seashells are cheap if you buy direct to the fisherman and cook by yourself...the shell you paid for 220 is only 40 pesos...it is expensive because most of Philippine seashells are exported to Korea and u.s.a and around the world...
