I passed and stop over in Doha going to New York and getting some kitkats of gold in duty free store located in the airpor. It is time to buy some gold coins and bars.
I bought some fractionals and the prices were acceptable.
Gold Store inside the Airport Duty Free, is one of the reliable Gold Shop you can obtain different types of Gold like fractional coins, bars and even numismatic items. Some Local Brands are also available but PAMP products are popular merchandise.

Purity for well known bars always stamped on the bars and it's certicards. You have to show your passport just like buying duty free items in airports. A receipt of purchase will be also issued.

Yup you are definitely right, but for *beginners/starters* - buying at right place will be greatly concerned due to lot of fakes can be encounter on many stores outside. An opportunity only for transit travellers since paying for an additional cost of transportation heading to a famous store will be equal sum in the end.
