Beautiful Timișoara, beautiful România! I'll be there next year for sure! Thank you for this great presentation! GOOD JOB! ALL THE RESPECT TO YOU!!! 👌🌺🎩
In this city I was born and I am proud of this . I miss TIMIŞOARA .
Timisoara is a very soviet village with some rough squares in the middle that have some nice secessionist facades, most of the very dilapidated. And that's it. To compare that with Viena is just ridiculous.
Thanks for your opinions! Both Timisoara and Oradea are really cool. Have you visited Cluj-Napoca, Brasov and Sibiu? They're also really cool medieval cities with narrow streets.
marine west-coast climate? that's debatable... i live on the west coast of North America and i can say without a doubt having visited timisoara many times that it does not have a marine west-coast climate (not to be confused with the Mediterranean climate of SoCal). it's definitely more temperate-continental. The marine west-coast climate is characterized as windy with extremely dry, forest fire inducing summers, and rainy winters. There is no snow to speak of all year save for maybe a week.
You did an amazing job with this video ! Bravo. An advice would be not to compare it to Vienna. Timisoara is Timisoara, doesn't have to be compared to Vienna or any other city.
@@FramingReality @Alan it's the nickname of the city, historical it's the capital of Southern Hungary, but none the less an beautiful city. High on my list to visit.
@@MrJlin1982 , it's nicknamed by tourists, not by us. It's Timisoara and that's all. You are 100% sad Hungarian. Do you think anyone cares who it belonged to in the past since we were attacked by basically everyone? It also belonged to the Turks. Now it's ours. We took it back and It's Timisoara of Romania !
@@mickael1277 if it's by Tourists why do you care. To me it will never be a Romanian city, but a cultural an Hungarian one. Certainly from my profession as a historian. But offcourse I know that the city is now part of Romania.
Catena in tot orasul si niste oameni care nu inteleg cum fac comert, bani. In orice cartier din 2 in 2 magazine ceva e inchis, in renovare sau spre inchiriere. Aici nimic. Doar preturi exagerate, mosnegaraie pe strazi, turisti vax si pretentii multe. Si toate acestea in Timisoara, capitala culturala europeana, in vacanta mobila a 29 de judete. A big bullshit!!!!!

I got it. You are right, Romania is located in central-eastern europe. However, my title of The Little Vienna of Estern Europe is more a header about a city, probably the only one who's very similar to Vienna. And it's located in Central-Eastern Europe. Also, if you look at tine zones, Vienna is +1 CET (Central Europe Time) and the entire Romania is under +2 EET (Eastern European Time).
Now most of Eastern Europeans claim that they are central Europe, because they are ashamed of the image people have of Eastern Europe. But literally Central Europe is Germany, Austria and Switzerland. If you say that Romania or Poland is central Europe, then France and even East Spain is central Europe too, because they are at the same distance from Germany than Romania. Nonsense.
@@screambeyond you only talk nonsense. Russia has 65 % of Europe . How can Germany be in the middle ! from the Geographic central point of Europe, Germany is far west! Do you even know where Europe starts and where it ends?
@@screambeyond Lithuania. After a re-estimation of the boundaries of the continent of Europe in 1989, Jean-George Affholder, a scientist at the Institut Géographique National (French National Geographic Institute) determined that the geographic centre of Europe is located at 54°54′24″N 25°19′12″E.
Such a liar video. Timisoara was part of Hungary until 1918. You mention even the Turkish influence, which was until the 17th hundreds and you "forget" that Timisoara was Temesvár a Hungarian city? You mentioned a lot of not relevant infos, but never mentioned Hungary and Hungarians contributing to the culture of the city. Shameful. You were a very good student of Ceausescu's history lessons. Bravo.
Hey, Bela! Thank you for stopping by and expressing your thoughts! Every video I make has some kind of research behind it, so I don't necessarily plan to avoid mentioning important things. This time around, I decided to mention the present and the very past, and I'm sorry that you feel offended. Undoubtedly, Austro-Hungarians played an important part of making Transylvania what it is today. But I think, at least for me, it's much more important to look at places and cities with curiosity for what the future's going to bring us and not with who's fault was. The history of a place should be an activity for leisure and relaxation and not a source of frustration.
@@FramingReality no worries, and thank you for your answer. I see your point, however I think it would be great if in the future in case that you mention a few cultural/historical data (e.g. mentioning what cultures contributed to the city) you should pay attention to include all cultures. Apart from the Hungarians, Jews weren't mentioned as well in the video... However I really appreciate your answer, and I'd be glad to see other videos of yours in the future. :) Cheers, Bela
It was colonised by Hungary, not part of Hungary. Crazy Hungarians hyper nationalists are claiming almost the whole East Europe based on that colonialist past, like when you guys claim Transylvania to be Hungarian, despite it never was Hungary but an independent vassal of Hungary. You guys are like Putin.
In video several nations are mentioned (germans, vlachs, serbs even turks!) in connection with Temesvár but Hungarians. Even László Tőkés the Hungarian kalvinist priest isn't mentioned referring to the Revolution of 1989 either. This biased video keeps the facts quiet🤔🇭🇺✌🏻...
