Hvorostovsky was a magnificent singer and performer. No subtitles, but it's about the heartbreak of the men who did not come home from WW2. He also toured Russia with the great Renée Fleming, and there are some incredible videos of performances they gave in private opera houses that date back to Catherine the Great. I am thankful for the recordings: I listen to his voice often. (In the video at the link, there are two women in the audience shown: the first, with white hair, is his mother.
