As a South African and a fan of Calema I like this group because their music is so unique and they are a proud group that is well respected in São Tomé e Príncipe, Portuguese speaking World and the world. They embrace their language Santomense a.k.a Forro too which is spoken in São Tomé e Príncipe for example the chorus Na lêlê Bo ...

They are brothers. This gente is called kizomba, And its Big for the Portuguese speaking countries in África. But the gente its originally from Angola.

@@UAfrican Yes, they are singing in Portuguese and Creole, but this Creole is not from Cape Verde, my country, but from São Tomé and Príncipe. It is a bit similar, but it is not the same Creole. I remember hearing that their grandparents are from Cape Verde, which is normal as there are many Cape Verdeans who emigrated to São Tomé in the 1950s. These two countries, very close by history, were Portuguese colonies that they still use today Portuguese as the official language.

Loved that you loved it! This is a powerful song and video. The song merges the languages they speak and grew up speaking, Portuguese and Creole from São Tomé e Príncipe. The video is an homage to their musical influences and a way of paying tribute to other African or African descent singers and songwriters. The long list in the end are their names and they are scrolling above all of the flags of the Portuguese speaking countries. They have a lot of other beautiful songs worth listening and they are just sweet humans. Check “Abraços” for a more mellow one and “Nosso Amor” ft Soraia for a more upbeat one! 😊
