Brandon is my favorite Frontier Brain, so I'm happy to see him in this game, but I hope he won't be stuck as an NPC for too long.

Seems like they’re giving all of Cynthia, Steven and Lance a reason to be more motivated and try harder at the tournament and give them new alts for anni. Next month should be Lance then, which I’m more happy about since he could use another alt, Cynthia and Steven already have way too many (and this is coming from a massive Steven fan).

Would they get alts, or would they get another set of power boosts for their base units? The last one gave quite a bit of focus to Cynth's Garchomp (as well as Volo's), and this one gives focus to Steven's Metagross. I'm kinda expecting not just Lance but also his Dragonite to be the focus of the next part. So this sync stone ultimate mechanic might affect the way these 3 (at first) use their sync moves, somehow. I think that's the general idea they're trying to hint at.

I'm wondering if Sync Stones Ultimate are going to be power boosts for existing units? Starting with the Champions. Or maybe just new, updated versions of the units with their pre-existing iconic Pokemon. Steven + Metagross could really use an update.

If we DO get the champion trio as the anniversary units, steven's scout quote is ABSOLUTELY going to be "Reliable and fearless Champions confront challenges headfirst! Even if they're worn down, they push through!", isn't it? Edit: Also, Steven's first thought about "which trainer worries me" is Lisia? Despite her not having much screentime in this game or anything? I smell a neo champion alt...

Honestly the odd one out out of all the flashbacks are Lisia, I feel like that’s setting up for SS or NC Lisia- everyone else showed the growth like Steven’s said, but Lisia is also there for some reason.

Even champions/adults need motivational guidance too, they are looked up to as examples by the young generation after all. But all are still human and may lose their way sometimes with a little helping hand to lead them back.

This game takes any and every opportunity to imply that Steven and Wallace are romantically inclined and I am 100% here for it. Edit: At this point I think we need a compilation of every time Steven and/or Wallace do/say something gay in this game. It would probably account for just about every time they appear.

Even the characters in-universe are bored with the game. Please give us better battle venues that aren't just a grind like BR, please, DeNA.

I didn’t notice it until reading your comment, but yeah, the dialogue just feels so… lifeless, almost. It’s not even lazy writing, it’s more like “we have no idea what we actually want to do” on the writers’ end.

@@bdt2002gaming Hmm I'm not getting that feeling per se from the writing but the game's appearance, yes, without a doubt. You look at other gatchas and the units have a lot more motion and life, they're not awkwardly cycling between the same 7 animations. But more, my comment was about the "stuff to do" in the game itself. It's funny for him to talk about going on an adventure, like what adventure, there's nothing to do in this game except cycle through the same boring "conversation" topics in TL or battle with units they specifically need you to use (Challenge of the Strongest) or just cycle mindlessly through repeat battle content. Even the Damage Challenge is probably gonna become boring by anniversary. I feel like, as a day 1 player, I've been pretty lenient on this, but we're coming up to year 5 and the dissatisfaction is clearly growing. They need to invest time into making the game better, not making just 1 new shiny toy to play with in a game you could still clear with Red & Pikachu.
