If you’ve received a police caution, you need to check with the US Embassy (posting a separate comment since previous commenters delete their thread when I advise them): uk.usembassy.gov/visas/ineligibilities-and-waivers-2/arrest-caution-conviction/
Hello! I have two questrions: What should I do in this part US point of contact information? I'd like to rent a camper in the US and visit around 6 states (there will not be any adress). And second question about employment: do I have to say my employer phone number or I can skip it? In the employment part "adress" means my employer adress or my workplace?
Does the camper rental company have an address you could use? You will need to have an address when you check in for your flight to the US. Are you perhaps staying at a hotel for your first night in the US, or at any point on your trip? You could use that address, too. For your second question, if you have an employer I would certainly include their details (phone number, address, etc). I would not omit any details as they will certainly find out. Also be prepared to answer any employment questions when you arrive in the US (they may just ask where you work and what you do - even US citizens get asked this).
@@CatherineTME Thank you for your answer! I will not be staying at any hotel, only camper. Camper rental company does have the address, so is it ok to use their address? Will they contact my employer? I'm afraid he can't speak english. (And what address should I put in the employment section? My workplace or my employer's office adress)
Will they still give you the esta even if you don't have a point of contact in the US. I'll give an example. Say you want to apply for your esta early before you've booked a hotel. Can you just leave the point of contact empty or is it required? Can you just put the city your want to go to and say you're going to book a hotel after you get your esta. Because some hotels take your money and won't give you a refund if you cancel your booking because you did receive your esta? Thanks for your video. It was very informative.
My pleasure, and I’m glad you found it helpful! I would recommend booking a hotel that does a “book now, pay later” option for payment. You can filter hotels on sites like Expedia like that, and I know Hilton hotels have rates that allow you to do that. Or, if you know for sure you’ll book that one particular hotel on the basis of getting your ESTA you could put down their details. I don’t recall anyone having to submit proof at this point, only on arrival. When you do check in for your flight, however, you will be required to include where you will be staying in the US. They only ask for one location, but when you arrive in the US they may ask to see more info, so just have that on hand.
US VISA required if the visited North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria or if they’re dual nationals of Iran or Iraq. Not affected for Dual Iranian Canadians for visiting USA without visa.
On my passport there is no first name or last name, it's just my full name, when I follow the barcode on below my passport, it populate the name in the wrong way before the payment page, when I do some tweaking it comes correctly before payment page? So which shlkld I follow? Barcode or the way I tweak it?
That’s a really tough question that I unfortunately don’t know the answer to. I’ve not seen that situation with ESTA applications, though I have seen it with Vietnam evisa applications where there were some complications because of how the name populates (as you have found out). As your situation is a unique one, you may find getting professional assistance with completing your application whereby it’ll be reviewed so that there are no issues. Need some help filling out application they ask !! Have you ever been issued a passport or national identity card for travel by any other country? I don’t no what to put
Okay, cool. Declare the other country. So many of my friends are dual citizens and always declare all of their nationalities. For example, my friend has a South African and a British passport. She uses the British passport for her ESTA, but also declares her SA one.
I will be traveling to the US with my aunt in a little over a month. Would you suggest we apply for ESTA individualy or as a group? We’re both Swedish citizens.
Hi again. I just wanted to ask in the point of contact section can you put a relative's details instead of where you actually want to go. Example i have an uncle in Virginia but I want to holiday in New York? Do think that would be okay. Or does your point of contact have to be where you are going?
They just need details of how to contact you while in the US. A lot of people use their ESTA more than once, so the original contact details will likely have changed for most people. I know people who have also put down relatives and it was fine. When you do check in for your flight for the US, however, they do need to know where you’ll be staying, so you would need to put where you’re staying in NY on that occasion.
I’ve heard of this happening to those using Microsoft Edge as their browser, but were able to work around this by using Chrome. If you still can’t get it to work, you could try putting your application through iVisa, who are a reputable third-party: www.ivisa.com/usa/esta?
I’ve found out that there’s no need to wait for the esta to expire, the new application canceled the active but soon to expire one and gave me another 2 years from the day I apply again.👍
That’s a good question! As a U.K. citizen you’re eligible to apply for an ESTA, but you would likely need to declare that you’ve had a previous US visa refused (even as a citizen of another country) and they may hold that against you. The application will ask you if you’re a citizen of another country, too. In that case, you may be required to apply for a visitor visa. You may benefit from using a visa service to help you with your application and the process given you’ve had a refusal in the past, and you can check this company out: www.ivisa.com/usa/b1b2-visa?
No, you would need to pay in USD if applying for US ESTA on their site. To pay in another currency (like GBP), you would need to use a reputable third party, like this one: www.ivisa.com/usa/esta?
