My experience: 1. Top up your car every time you see a gas station; 2. On these roads, you will struggle with phone networks; 3. Make sure you drive below 100 km per hour; 4. Trust common sense more than your GPS; 5. Make sure you have a strong, good quality spare wheel, a spanner, or an impact wrench and a jack; 6. If you call your insurance, it will take endless hours to come to you; 7. Nobody will stop to help you; 8. If you drive on holidays, remember tyre shops are not open; 9. Don't let anyone drive with your rim directly on tar; 10. Even if you plan your trip to the T, unforseen situations will always happen; 11. Do not EVER panic, and everyone must remain calm. You got this! Eatern cape full playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLuKKdXhv4SaNRIkUZM9_iaMMXVY74QT7w&si=yyS4qGtSFTbjcJ5e

Those are very valuable tips indeed. Plan your journey in advance and never trust a GPS with your life, it sometimes gets too overexcited and leads you to a path of destruction. I love your show, always watching. It's my first time commenting.

Awesome road trip. I was driving from Pretoria to Cape Town on 02 and returned on 10 January. I love road trips. I can tell that your brother is from Europe. He doesn't not apply the "keep left pass right" rule on a dual carriage way. I'm looking for more from that side of the country.

Not sure how you ended up in Graaf Reineit. From N9 you take the N10 which passes through Cradock and you will eventually land on the N2 to PE. We take this drive yearly during December. I drive alone,my wife never bother to assist. From Summerstrand we go to CPT via N2 (Garden Route). You don't need to use that R75. We went again last December and we leave our house in Jozi around 3am,by 8am we are almost in Bloem

I was thinking the same thing, maybe the GPS lady was tired of driving through Cradock and wanted to pass via Jansenville😂😂

@@Nkei-bb9dy I had to rewind and my asked me how did he end up in Graaf Reineit when he was on the N9. You need to take Bethulie off ramp to land in Graaf and that road is terrible. While staying in RUSTENBURG before coming to GP, a GPS took me on that route and I was unhappy with that decision. Me I prefer road trips during holidays, a flight kills the fun

No such place as "Gqeberha". (A Fake Marxist Azania name created by racists). My hometown is Port Elizabeth.

For all the complaining that Sourh Africans do about their country, they forget that their country has the 8th largest road network in the world. Can you imagine an African country achieving such a feat. Thats quite an impressive road infrastructure stretch. It means only seven country have a longer road infrastructure network, that is alot of tarred roads.

I'm pleasantly surprised that there's no safety issues to be travelling by road across South Africa. I thought it would be too dangerous to be doing this, especially if you're struck due to a flat tyre. Greetings from Australia!

There are hotspots where u don't wish to find yourself with a flat tyre, nevertheless, although we have serious crime issues, I for one still drive in very dangerous places without any fear
