Hi Happiness 🌞, Today, I’m going to show you how to froth milk using a French Press. Absolutely NO machine required and workable even for latte art.
In my opinion, a French Press is a must-have
for any coffee lovers. It is very portable, approachable and versatile.
You can carry it anywhere to brew coffee and froth milk
without the need of an expensive espresso machine.
But, frothing - to achieve high-quality foam using a French Press
can be a quite a challenge.
Based on my guide in this video, I hope you can produce quality frothed milk and make great milk coffee anywhere you wish.

I've been trying this method for 3 months. I would say to keep it consistent, stick with a milk brand that you've tried which works. Some brands work and some don't work like Nestlé full cream milk doesn't work for me. So a good tip is to find a good milk brand which works with this foaming method and stick with it. Devondale and SoNatural worked well for me.
@cryogenic8791
@cryogenic8791 2 года назад
I was having trouble getting consistent results until I bought a thermometer! I highly recommend bying a digital one so you can see exactly how hot the milk is! The key for me was when I found out I was not heating the milk enough! I would suggest that you aim for 65 to 70 degrees cuz the temperature goes down when you transfer the milk to the french press and then the pitcher! I heat my milk in a small pan! If you are heating it in the microwave like the video then maybe you can get away with not heating the milk as much! But this video was my key to success! SO thank you once again!

Thank you so much for the lovely comment 🌞👍👍 Makes me very happy 💙💙 I know Bodum is a well known brand for french presses. I tried pumping it in a retail shop, but for me it didn't feel smooth. I just got a cheap one in any market store and chose one that feels smooth for pumping (not branded). In the end, I'm not using it for coffee filter. But for more frothing when traveling. Hope it helped and Hope to see you around Happiness 🌞💙

@@boom3122 for real though. I first bought a milk frother for 17 euros, it took me months to finally get a decent workable milk texture but it was always to thick, the foam remains at the top most of the time, and the texture wasn't very homogeneous either. And recently I got a frenchperss for less than ten bucks. And the result is unexpected. You should definitely try it out!

Clearest and most detailed video I've seen on french press latte art. Thanks very much. Can this be done pouring from the press without a milk pitcher? Everyone generally transfers the milk from the press to pitcher for pouring without comment, but I'm not sure why this is - thanks again for the help!
@haelibo
@haelibo 4 года назад
Thank you for the Happy comment 🌞🙏🙏 The reason why people use milk pitchers is that it is a tool to mix the steamed or frothed milk well with the coffee base. And they invest some money into jugs if want some latte art. It is just a bonus tool. Not necessary. I'm sure I can mix even with French Press (The key is not breaking the crema unless drawing for latteart). Hope it helped and hope to see you around 💙👍

For me its really difficult because Im using only 150 ml of full fat milk for one cup. And the french press cant reach the bottom. The manual frother milk would be easier for this i guess. But I tried it by pouring the milk into the half of french press. And all I did was pumping in the middle (inside of the milk). And the texture was amazing. For the first time there wasnt too much of a foam at the end. I first though its too thin but it was almost perfect. Maybe a few extra pumps would do the trick. So I guess my advice here is just be patience. Each french press has a different size, everybody is using different milk and not every french press can reach the bottom. But with practice its possible to achive it.
@carlicia
@carlicia 3 года назад
Wow, exactly what I was looking for. A method that offers consistency. Have you tried this with non-dairy milk? I use oat milk (usually Oatly or Minor Figures); do you think this system would need any tweaking? Maybe 4 initial pumps instead of 3?
@carlicia
@carlicia 3 года назад
Quick update for anyone who takes their coffee with oat milk: this technique works incredibly well, but I found that a) it works best with 4 initial pumps (the ones used to introduce air) and b) starting with the right temp is key (not too hot, not too cold). 🙌💗
