Welcome to Sisikon, a lesser-known paradise in the heart of Central Switzerland. In a world where popular tourist spots often steal the spotlight, Sisikon offers a unique and authentic experience for travelers seeking something off the beaten path.
Sisikon is a small village located in the Canton of Uri, Switzerland. It is situated on the southern shore of Lake Lucerne and has a population of approximately 800 people. The village is known for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Visitors to Sisikon can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, swimming and boating.
This place has a rich history dating back to the Roman era. In the 19th century, Sisikon became a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over Europe. Today, the village is a flourishing community with a unique blend of traditional and modern culture.
Today in this video we will hike from Flüelen to Sisikon ; a breath-taking portion of the Famous ‘Swiss Path’. The Swiss Path - Weg der Schweiz in German - is a hiking trail that runs along the southernmost arm of Lake Lucerne, from Seelisberg to Brunnen. It was built to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation. The whole Swiss Path is 35 km and divided into 7 sections, each part is easily accessible by public transport. Flüelen to Sisikon is the stage 3 of The Swiss Path and it is a 6.8 km long route. This part offers magnificent panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains and alternates between coastal paths and stretches in the mountains or along lush meadows.
