I love them all, but have one critique. The legs with all the lined details would look better if the indents had the paint and the raised parts were distressed. They just seem to be the opposite of the rest of the piece.

I thought it looked great, but I see your point. More realistic. If it it been ‘distressed’ by time it would be the way you said. Regardless, she is extremely talented.

Just a pointer from someone whose husband has been in the antique auction business for many years. I have redone, refurbished, and repurposed more furniture than I can remember. You should always sand in the direction of the grain of the wood, never go in circles or in different directions across the grain of the wood. Not only does it make painting or staining it much easier, the paint/stain goes on much smoother and it produces a much nicer more professional looking finish that will also last longer. You will also use less paint and fewer coats because you are not opening up the grain of the wood which causes the paint to soak into the wood so you have to use more paint to get complete coverage. And as the table gets older the wood will be much less likely to crack from the changes in temperature and from the wood drying out from being in heated houses. Believe me, I learned this the hard way after having to redo a few pieces from the paint chipping off prematurely.

You do just lovely work and with littles "helping" too! I agree with some of the others, you need a work table. Your knees and back will thank you later! I'm a bit jealous of your tool collection lol. Thanks for showing your mistakes too - that helps. I'm looking at doing over some butt-ugly furniture on a very limited budget and having never done it before, I'm watching an expert at work!

See!!! That's ALLLLL someone needs to do to let the person know that there's a wee little problem! Constructive criticism is a lesson we all can learn to be a better a person! Lol NOT that is what you were doing or anything like that, because you were just letting her know about the voiceover but it makes me CrAzY how people don't understand or care about the difference! The more p.c people become the more arrogant and snarky they're becoming, almost belittling Instead of helpful, they use the moment to show anyone else, except the person they are speaking to, just how woke they are, like a sick snarky badge of honor so the funsuckin Hall monitors will know how great they are at spotting another person's failure! Good lord sorry for the HiSsY-fIT 🙈 but your reply was great and I sincerely appreciate it lol not that my opinion matters but it's just nice to see kindness, when so much is lacking! SoOoOoOoO here's your gold star 🤗 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✨⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and Please keep being FAB-U-LOUS ✌️ annnnnd HaPpY Halloween 🖤🦇🖤 and a fabulous fall!🦇🍁🌾🍂🌻 🖤⚜️🖤

I've been painting furniture for 30 plus years and you did a beautiful job on all of it. Very nice pieces and very nice work. ♥ I would, however, tend to agree with the other comments about the legs on the tables. It would be better to paint inside the indentions and then distress around them to bring out the details. When you do the opposite it doesn't leave a cohesive look with the rest of the piece. Otherwise nicely done! Was also wondering if you have a link to where on Amazon you buy your transfers?

I like how you work and the end result of many pieces of furniture but you are torturing some old expensive furniture by just styling them in the same "farm fashion".The "royal" looking ones deserve other type of restoration. Please give them a chance and don't transform all into farm looking. Please! All the best! :)

What a clever idea to turn that desk into two side tables. I would probably have never thought of turning that desk into tables. I really like the color you chose and I like how you painted those art deco style handles a metallic color which gives the piece an industrial vibe. I still say, that like most of the other pieces, these would have looked really sleek and would have retained their art deco style in a great way if you had not felt the need to once again give them the FAKE distressed look. With the gorgeous color you chose and the silver handles, if you had used a high gloss finish or used a coat of clear gloss over that beautiful purplish blue color, these tables would have looked like they were lacquered and would have been an Art Deco lovers dream. The distressing does not fit the design era at all.

I can't take it. Why do you leave the drawers in your pieces when painting? It makes for such a sloppy result. If you remove them and paint them separately it would look so much better. Sorry for being negative. I love your ideas for each piece. Very creative!
@laurabongard2682

The pink cabinet that you painted is a Martha Washington Sewing (cabinet, stand, don't know for sure). Mine came with a better finish so I am only going to clean it well and carry on with what the last owner of it stopped. I've got some sticky drawer stuff going on, but I know how to fix that. I only paid $6 for it, and I even picked up a beautiful little walnut scalloped table with a drawer at the end for $6. Someone messed up the top because there are water stains from wet glasses having sat on it. Obviously, the owner of that table didn't want it after it was messed up. I only have to deal with the top. I want that table to be as it was originally. Other than the top being messed up with water stains, the table is perfect. I paint furniture too - sometimes completely. A lot of times when I paint, I like having the top done in wood & stain. I have my mother's antique bedroom set to refinish. Someone had already messed up the set with an antiquing kit, and it looked okay - but it was obvious it was painted. I didn't notice this, and neither did my mother back when she got it in the late 50's. She used that bedroom set all her life. Now is the time to get it back to as original as possible. It will be a family heirloom piece and I have others. I am the only one in the family who can refinish and repair furniture. I have an oak server that my grandfather finished for my grandma. It was new and unfinished when he got it. It was perfect until my aunt's husband put a can of red paint on top of it (about a 4-inch circle), and left a red paint stain behind. I am leaving the ring behind because I know the story. I will crochet a dresser scarf for the top of it so that stain remains covered. I forgot to mention - I know the stories of all the furniture I have of my mother's - none of which I want to cover up because it would be destroying the story. Oscar, our dog was excited near a black walnut table that my mother had. He was wagging his tail and knocked over a picture frame that was on the table. He knew he had done something and ran like heck out of the room. It is only a tiny nick and it is staying. Oscar was the sweetest boy.

Why do you paint all the wood? Sad to see. Your work is supreme (impeccable) but the furniture pieces would sell for and retain a higher price value be if you would leave (or restore them ) to their natural wood state. So many people love Scandinavian design etc ( natural wood) these days. Your children may add some patina, but that would add beauty.

Awesome! My advice is to clean the pieces, lightly sand, clean again. You can prime with a stain blocking primer if the surface is shiny. If you're using chalk paint, maybe get a chalk paint brush. They leave less brush strokes. And of course make sure to apply several coates of a rope coat like Polyurethane. I recommend a satin finish. Thank you so much for watching ❤️

Hi JUDI.... thank you so much for watching ❤️. In regards arthritis...I'd say for sanding...try to just lightly sand and then use. A stain blocking primer. The add paint. If the item requires sanding all the way to the bare wood, then I'd say maybe try a liquid sander...but it's very stinky and. Needs to be done in a very ventilated area.

Hi Melissa! Some thing's I do so not her bubbles on my polyurethane is to stir, not shake before applying. If able, use a sponge applicator vs. a brush. Lightly sand with a 220 grit sand paper I between coates, making sure that it is very light and you dust very well before applying the next coate. Hope this helps!

Love watching your transformations! Just FYI, at 48:07 seconds in the video when you are working on the Martha Stewart chest, Your voiceover is speaking over another voiceover! It's a little confusing and distracting. I'm still watching so will come back and edit for my favorite!

I’ve been trying to flip a kitchen table similar to yours for about 10 months. Now seeing how yours turned out makes me really want to finish the one I’ve been working on. The only difference is the chairs I’m doing have cushion seats and that’s what I got tired of doing!! But watching you inspired me to get off my Fanny and finish it!! Thanks for showing me there is a rainbow at the end!!

Unrelated to your projects, but who's singing the song while you're painting the chairs "were you the one that got away"?

Beautiful upcycles! ******** WORD OF WARNING******* Since your kids are hiding in the chest, make VERY SURE the lock has been removed. In the length of time it takes you to go get your mail a child could become trapped and suffocate. Definitely a tragedy you want to avoid at all cost! Great work.

I don't care about any mistakes, or critiques of you're work... I will just say, i love the pieces you do and not concerned about your method (right or wrong) how you get there..Beautiful job. oh and btw,,,,,Artist never follow the rules, they create their own techniques (right or wrong, good or bad)

Love your work & learning so much. So Thank you, thank you, thank you I do have a question for you. Where can I find transfers like the little pink table w drawer in the front. It has a pink flower & the word Paris. I have been looking forever and can only find smaller transfers or big wall stickers. Thank you for any help or direction you may have 😊

I have never liked fake-aged furniture, but you won me over. Good job! However, not liking or subscribing due to the double audio issue. Maybe you should post a trigger warning as that is quite disconcerting and anxiety inducing.

Your voice doubled several times and also I kept getting a pop-up about your channel and You Tube being compensated for whatever. While i enjoyed what I could see of your video (due to the repeated pop-ups), these things were quite annoying. Great job on the furniture though.

You must stop interrupting yourself. 🤭😋 You created some awesome flips. Some of them truly looked ready for the dump but you gave them a new life. That's one of my favorite things to do. What do do to sanitize these old pieces? Thanks for all your great ideas. 🌺

That pink three drawer flip top stand you did is called a "Martha Washington" sewing cabinet. In some circles it is considered if not an antique, then nearly so. While your end finish was cute, I'd rather have seen it in a more neutral color, (just a personal preference), Good videos.

You do beautiful work!! What are you using to clean the furniture??? Some Pieces you did not sand is it because of the paint that you was going to use? And I did not catch the name of the yellow paint product that has very good coverage and a very pretty color.

I really enjoyed your video but if you want more viewers you could make your steps a bit shorter. Like the vaccuming painting, showing only one hinge being put on instead of the full step, etc.
