I lost my Mom 8 years ago. This will be the 9th Christmas without her. We always went shopping for Christmas decor every year, and we decorated our homes together. I miss her everyday, but at the holidays the most. My Mom loved everything about Christmas, and she always became a maximalist when it came to Christmas decorating. She had all her of her parent's Christmas stuff, and I inherited it all, along with my Dad's from his family. I treasure each bit of it all, as it's a piece of them and a part of my childhood memories. I myself have been married for 40 years, and I've got a massive amount of decorations as well. I will start decorating on November 1st, and finish on November 23rd, when the Christmas tree farm here opens, and we get a real tree. It brings me comfort to see the decorations on the tree, and all through the house...knowing who it came from and remembering it my grandparents homes. My most treasured piece is a manger that was built by my grandfather's uncle for my grandparents 1st Christmas back in 1933. It's the first thing I bring out every year. I keep it stored in my bedroom closet because it has an a/c vent in it. I live in Florida. The excessive heat and humidity will destroy things stored in the attic. We put lights around the gutters as well as the porch, bushes and trees! We also have a spot light that shows snowflakes on our garage door. I love the look of white lights but my husband likes color so that is what we do. Your porch looks so pretty!

How beautiful throughout from the front porch to upstairs. My mother passed away 18 years ago, and I still miss her every day - we were best friends. She also loved the Christmas time being together. We are blessed that we have those happy memories that will last forever.

I lost my mom almost 2 years ago. We lived for decorating for the holidays. It was our favorite time of year. Surprisingly I still get excited about decorating obviously like you do, but the day itself seems to be the hardest for me but I will honor her every year by continuing decorating and enjoying it the way we did together. ♥️ I so enjoy your channel.

I do decorate our front porch. We don’t put lights on our house anymore. It’s just too difficult now that we are older. For my husband and I to be on ladders is a bit scary now. Your home looks so beautiful.

I am so very sorry for your loss and l understand you because my mom passed away this month on the 27 it’s going to be one year and seven months but to me it’s like yesterday and it’s so very hard for me trying to deal with her loss, my heart it’s broken 💔💔💔💔💔💔😢😢😢😢😢😢thank u for sharing god bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇😇😇😇my heart goes out to you 💖💖💖💖💖💖
