nice method. Very nice. But the tree I need to climb at has a ton of BIG ants crawling ALL OVER the trunk. What should I do.. I'm thinking spraying it with soapy water or something. Also, besides this method that you showed, what do you think about using a strong fabric to hug the tree for your support instead of hugging it? You know, maybe a strong jacket and you wrap around the trunk and hold each end with each hand and use that to climb the tree? The tree I'm trying to climb at has almost the same thickness as the one shown in the video, I don't know the type, BUT the tree is very big. (tall) What's the type of the tree in your video, it's nice! Also, would it be better to be barefoot or to have shoes on? What do you think too? The reason I'm saying all of this is because I flew an RC airplane yesterday, it got stuck high up. Branches are pretty high... I'm looking all over RU-vid for any help on tree climbing, and this video is nice. It's very early morning right now, 1 AM, and I'll try to get to that tree and climb the tree and get my plane back tomorrow morning.

Tried this on a beech tree, couldn't gather enough force to move my hips up. It's a good resting position though.
