We had a frost/freeze advisory last night bc it got sooo cold! It went down into the upper 30s, so we got lucky... but in Michigan we usually have to wait to plant until at least memorial weekend when the last frost threat is usually gone. I have begun buying my flowers and will be soon buying vege plants and I already have my seeds. One thing you definitely need is a way to allow your veges to either grow up or spread out. Cucumbers get very much in need of spreading out and they either need something to climb on or you will need to guide them down o to your patio. Tomatoes spread wide and then if you can, you can guide them upwards. Beans and peas also need something to climb on. Its smart to get your climbers a piece of fence or something to climb on as soon as possible to train them!😊

Hi Lauren, I think you can place water filled empty milk jugs in the garden to keep the cats out..

Please keep your cat safe indoors then pooping in your garden wouldn't be an issue. Its not going to stop if they're let outdoors. Also lots of plants are poisonous to cats and dogs alike. Please consider keeping them indoors! It's so dangerous outside. They get hit by cars, kiilled by predators, closed into people's garages, under homes and in sheds, get diseases from other outdoor animals and people think they are stray and end up keeping them, taking to the pound or are cruel to them.

Power washing is so satisfying and I’m feeling way less guilty do it after all of our rain this year in CA. 😁

Try saving egg shells from your eggs. Let them dry and grind them up. I do this to keep my cats from using our beds. They don't like the texture on their feet and another plus... eggshells add calcium to your dirt.

Sprinkle pepper on the dirt. The cats should stay out😂. Little Stinker! ❤

Cat poop has a parasite toxoplasmosis and it is a very dangerous for people with low immune systems and pregnant women. I do not think I would eat any food that they have pooped on or in or near. You should cover your beds or find a way to keep the cats out. My neighbors cats have totally ruined my flower beds by using them as their own personal litter boxes and since I have 3 autoimmune disease I am unable to work in my flower and herb gardens. Cats can be a nuisance to neighbors so I hope your cats do not use your neighbors yard as well as yours!

Save yourself a lot of time and get the surface cleaner for your pressure washer.. We have a fifteen inch surface cleaner disc. My husband said he loved it, and it saved him a lot of time. I love your backyard.

We had frost warnings it got down in the low 30’s, I am going to plant herbs which I love, we tried to plant a garden but animals come and eat everything so it gets discouraging, we are surrounded by farms here here in Pennsylvania. Ok that meal looked divine! I definitely want to try it...excited for your cookbook release! Just wanted to say in regards to the cat pooping in your garden beds...we had the same issue and its awful! Once they start, they won't stop. If I were you I would protect your garden area in a similar way to the chicken coop. It would be a shame for all that hard work you already did twice in there to go to waste!

I would definitely think about getting something like a hose link. Makes watering so much easier!

For allergy..take tsp of local honey as needed. I did this this year and it worked. I am not a doctor ,just telling my opinion.

I have my garden well underway, peppers (red, yellow, green, purple) tomatoes ( I like Roma) but I have a couple of others as well. yellow summer squash, spaghetti squash,(oh my goodness, you should try this, it is so-o-o good!) green beans, parsley, chives and basil. Couldn't find zucchinni so had to start from seed, hope they grow. I had slugs eating on my peppers so I had to take care of those pesky things, but hopefully we're good now. I love gardening and I think yours is amazing. Happy growing!

You need a netting type cover for your raised beds to protect them. You can extend it up 12 inches or so to keep out the critters.

Barkeepers friend worked for my tiles outside… try it on your stain and let it sit for a few minutes before you scrub and wash off
