The incense your hosts burned is your house's namesake, copal! The resin comes from copal trees and is ceremonially burned like palo santo or frankincense. Every single one of your looks was so good and perfect complement to being in Tulum. I hope you're able to get a property there someday, sounds like it makes your heart happy.

I went to Tulum solo in 22 and then with my mom in 23. it’s become my yearly December trip. i love it there. it speaks to my soul. i want to get a condo!! it seems you stayed in La Veleta, that’s my fave area. I was walking distance from Miyami (sp) burger. that area is so cute

The beaches seem to only be clear during off season and I’m a beach bum and like to go peak season, but the funky seaweed is everywhere and you can’t access the water…I left my Playa Del Carmen/Tulum Memorial Day vacation early a few years ago because we couldn’t access the beach.
