As always, great review, I heard this sub and it was the weight and somewhat muffled sound that actually pushed me towards the S-12 purchases. the 2318S goes deep but not to clear, and the S12 I found to be clearer bass with two. Once again, great job!!!👌

I have four of these puppies. Love them. Let’s hope they have longevity. I have had one summer running live sound so far with them and they are solid running. Even in the heat.

That gain control is the difference between consumer line level and pro line level. If you're running pro gear, you should be at +4.

@@expertisland yes and there new tops come with a lot of features impressive I don’t own the tops I’m running Fbt promaxx 14a and Rcf hd35a and the subs keep up with these high end speakers I heard the ts408 loud clean punches hard

Most pro audio does not get replaced every year or 18 months like phones, TVs, or laptops. A new model PA speaker will feature more options like Apps, Bluetooth, and even More Power. But this will also bring the Price Back Up. So always try to balance out what is new with what you Need. Hope this helps. As for the GSP-l2200pk (top-of-the-line Consumer PA) / thump 15bst entry-level PRO Audio PA

Cam you do the new Harbinger s18 subwoofers and one of the vari 3000 series speakers. Just saw them the other day in guitar center. Also I heard there is a new vari 4000 coming out. I saw the fcc paperwork for it.

I have this sub and really sounds good lots of people give bad review because the sound or because is not loud or others about clips easy but after owned I can said sound good same like the high brands no I can get the max of my and no clip why I see is people trying this sub or others sub wrong first you need to understand gain structure your gonna have diferent sound if is outside , inside close to the wall the placement will affect not jus this sub any sub they expect to get the same sound like the top speaker but sub is not directional like tops is unidirectional that's why everyone gets diferent perception of the sound sub waves is not the same like mids or high frequency sound just enjoy what you have if you can afford the high brands go for it if not just keep going

For a lot of people this could be there first Large PA Subwoofer and expectations are sometimes off from reality. also understanding how to use and manager sound is a whole new learn cover. >>>> ( But let me make a video or something 💩💩💩💩 on the product because it never me.)

That’s it most don’t understand how to control their gain and give a clean signal I’ve heard cheap speakers that sound just as good as high priced ones a lot of high priced speakers use lighter woofers and drivers and the badge name this is why they $$$ most the time great point dude 🫡👍🏾

use an external crossover and set it to 100 Hz and it’s gonna bump 10x even more

I had the pleasure to buy one vari 2312 on sale right now to put against my prx812 and no to much difference prx just little clearer sound and output comparison just by ear I'm satisfied with the sound of the vari 2312 is hard to believe but I have Yamaha dxr8 jbl. srx812p and prx812 I know better components then vari but I always use drive rack to have the flates response maybe out of the box probably a better box sound cleaner but everybody have different ears and taste that's why is lot's of brands for everybody to choose

This Model has just been replaced by the VS18 at $900 We are getting one Today to test, this one in the video is a great deal it is the V2318 on Clearance Sale for only $550 I would buy 4 at that Price what a Great Deal.

I just got this sub and it only plays on -10 when i switch it to +4 it kills the sub. Any suggestions?

@@expertisland I'm using a harbinger m120 mixer. I have it coming out of the rec out to a 1/4" plug on the back of the sub.

Rec out is a fixed pre-amp output most likely -10dBV ( fixed means you control all the volume via the subwoofer and you will need an RCA Female to XLR male adapter or here is the link to amazon amzn.to/49Vi9qg

I buy one vari v2312 to put against my jbl prx812 and hard to believe but the vari sound nice output just by ear the 812 slightly difference not much and sound prx sound jus little cleaner both at clip point i have srx812p yami dxr 8 and prx 812 more then satisfied whit the vari and for the money i know the other ones have better components out of the box every brand have they're own sound and for me work just fine i always use drive rack to have the flates response most i do is live sound not dj everybody have different ears and taste lot of brands to choose

That's always a good question Alto for Band, Harbinger for DJ. More a Coke vs Pepsi think. If the Harbinger is on sale for $200 Less then Alto Buy Harbinger.
