In the 1950's into the '60's very few people had air conditioning. We had a desert cooler like everyone else, but they didn't really work in the Summer. Probably a misconception is that the U.S. has always been a rich country but that's not true. Other than a hand full of rich people who exist in every country most people in the U.S. were poor until 1945. Things started getting better from then. Most everyone was like us, not much money. We all grew up somewhat poor, but we didn't know we were poor because we were much better off than our parents when they were younger. - @@joevarga5982
Please create more videos. Love your channel. My wife and I moved to the Yuma Foothills in 2019. Sold my home in Southern California. Paid cash for my current home here in Yuma. Paid off all my bills to include my car. I purchased a Polaris Ace UTV. Love having it licensed for street use. It is my second car. Just paid my license tab for the Ace. The cost for renewal is $5.10! There is Constitutional Carry in Arizona. You can carry a firearm concealed or open carry without a Carry Permit. Only one request if your a liberal and move here. DON'T CALIFORNIA MY ARIZONA.
Constitutional Carry is in every state, Constitutional Rights supersede all ( local, county, state, and federal laws) that's why I carry where ever I go
Hello K from this big city (LA) guy and my compliments on your great take on Yuma, a place I have always liked. Yes, spent a lot of time there over the years. Other pluses are it's a safe City, reasonable housing costs and friendly locals. As to Hot it's really no different from Palm Springs a place where Millionaires live year round.
Did they do $1 burrito Wednesdays too? Chile pepper was our spot back at Woodard and you could always find half of the middle school there on Wednesdays after school.
Are scorpion’s something to worry about all the time? We are arriving in November and staying until April. I’m not sure if my crazy family is just trying to scare me or not! Thank you!
I’m glad you asked, Wendy! Unless you’ll be living in the desert areas you should be completely fine. It’s very rare to find a scorpion in your home, but if you leave any shoes outside give them a little shake just to make sure there’s no critters camping out in there. Now if you actually want to encounter from scorpions I suggest looking up scorpion hunting! 🦂 🔦
I have a home daycare in San Diego and have a pretty good income (4,000-7,000 monthly) but still can not afford a house. Would you think I could be just as successful? My husband has a comercial license and drives concrete trucks. Is there jobs for that?
Is it cultured? We are considering purchasing a home in Yuma. We live in Washington state. Where there is hardly any diversity. I’d love to be somewhere that is diverse.
30 mins 😂 it’s no quartzite but it’s no 30 mins either lol 😉 but I haven’t been there in yrs tho lol 🤗 been thinking my three boys and I going back. 🧐hm.. my fathers from Yuma. I believe my grandmothers house is a historical landmark. Well, I liked your video, thank you.
Closer to the center of town the night sky is still visible but driving 15-20 minutes towards the sand dunes or even the foothills is a stunning view! As kids we would go to Jackrabbit Pass to watch the meteor showers.

Hi Debby! Drought is something we must be conscious of while living in the desert, however, Yuma County has excellent water rights to the Colorado River which keeps us thriving as an agriculture community!
