Me and my boyfriend met on Twitter 5 years ago, and for Valentines day last year, he dug up his initial DM slide from way back in 2019, had it printed on nice paper, and framed it. It was really touching. I now have it sitting by my sewing table.
Hair jewellery just strikes me as odd rather than nasty but those eye miniatures, I really don't like them one little bit. I think it's the fact they could be a sign of taking the lover with you everywhere you go (aw, sweet) but could also be a sign of that lover wanting to keep an eye on every single thing you do (um, red flag)...
I also don't like the idea of hair jewellery. But I have to say, I was stunned and deeply touched to find a locket of my baby hair tucked neatly into my dad's wallet. He passed away when I was in my late twenties so it had been there a very long time. He was one of my best friends and my first hero so it was pretty awesome to find this token.
I'd be delighted with hair work jewellery as a gift. I do American Civil war reenactment in Ireland and it would be a great talking point for my display.
