🌻Here is a written version of the pattern available for purchase on Etsy: kristinesdaycrafts.etsy.com/listing/1523096171 Please support my work! It will be greatly appreciated! ❤❤❤
The pattern at the beginning showing how it should all be laid out was super helpful! I need help with that ribbed hem because im a complete beginner, but i will be watching more and learning. I have like 12 squares made so far 😂
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm making the sun and moon granny squares by following your tutorial, and i will use them in this cardigan. I'm really excited to see how this turns out!
Working on this. Still need 8 squares but already connecting the body haha. I ran out of white yarn, now I have to wait because the colour is out of stock everywhere. Tip: BUY ENOUGH EXTRA YARN!!!
Omg this happened to me I forst wanted to make sure I was able to make the squares look neat bc it’s my forst project and then they stopped producing the green colour 😭 had to switch to red bc all the other greens from this yarn were so ugly… not I have to re-crochet all those final rounds of my green squares…
I’m working on this cardigan right now to be able to have it to the Taylor Swift concert, but how many stitches do you do for the ribbing on the sleeves, bottom and inner part? Really love this pattern!!😍
Thank you! 🥰 Bottom ribbing is the same width as cuffs, while inner ribbing is a bit thinner. In terms of length, I just made them quite long and attached without cutting the yarn off completely to make sure I can still add or remove some rows just in case if needed 😊 (I hope that makes sense 😅) And have fun at the concert!! 😍
I'm watching from Portugal and I have to say that I absolety love it 😍 about the yarn, can you tell me please if 8/8 means line number 8, because here the numerations apears diferent. Thank u so much ❤
Obrigado! ❤ (I absolutely loved my time in Portugal this year!) The terms 8/4 and 8/8 indicate the thickness and length of cotton yarn. The number in front of the hyphen indicates the thickness of the cotton that the yarn is made of, whereas the number after the hyphen indicates how many strands/ply - or yarn fibres - the yarn is spun from. I'm using this brand: yarnliving.com/yarn-and-colors-439/yarn-and-colors-epic-8-8-p1481
hi just wanted to ask you how much did you chain for the ribbing i just made every square and i am worried about the size of the ribbing very helpful video thanks
I didn't count specifically. I just made it until it's quite long and attached as I went basically. As a ribbing it will be a bit stretched. If it turns out too short, add extra rows and if it's too long, just remove them. :)
Hi love the cardigan! I am planning on making this and was wondering what size it will fit? I am not sure whether to add an extra row to my granny squares.
Can you please expand this pattern with instructions to make more sizes as in large, extra large, etc.? I am thinking this may be of more help for others plus you will have more viewers on this tutorial. Thank you!
Do you have any trouble connecting the ribbing to the the corners of the neckline? Because i have seen some people adding 2 triangles there, i dont know if thats better or worse
Hi! 🤗 I basically created a long strap and started attaching it without cutting the yarn off, just in case if I needed to add extra or remove some rows ☺️
@@davidthompson3741 yeah, so you are safe with 5mm hook to create this cardigan as mine in size S. For gigger sizes add an extra round of DC all around :)
@@KristinesDayI’ve just made my first square and nearly 13cmx13cm maybe a little bigger once I block them! Will this be a similar size or maybe for down to a 4.5mm hook
It might just be me, but I'm a little confused by how you did the underarms. How did you connect the 3rd square around the arms to the rest of the cardigan. I hope that question makes sense.
Glad it’s helpful! 🥰 yes, sure, acrylic works too! Just make sure that you are using one that requires 5 mm hook. Or make your squares bigger by adding extra rounds. Here is a tutorial if you need one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VKCyGVKivoI.html
@@therobinsons8629 here is the yarn I was using: lindehobby.co.uk/yarn-and-colors-439/yarn-and-colors-epic-8-8-p1481? Ideally it’s something that requires 5mm crochet hook.
@@easternbuildersengineers5796 yes, exactly, a couple more rounds of the green. Note that during those rounds all stitches would have to be the same type. Size S requires 12x12 cm squares
How big is each granny square i.e. what is the tension? I want to make this but don't want to make 54 squares to find at the end it is too small but could have used a hook size up to get the right size. Thanks in advance
I can't believe it. I was thinking about making a cardigan, then watched your sunflower granny square video. Then searched up how to make a granny square cardigan and this popped up on my screen! I'm so glad you turned the sunflower squares into a cardigan! Thanks a lot!❤
I made this one in like 2 weeks I used 4.5mm hook 3 dark green yarns 2 yellow and light brown ones and one dark brown Because of my procrastination I did a few changes in it but it turned out so good 🌻 everyone loved it So I made back 4/4 (16) instead of 4/5 (25) because I’m skinny and I just wanted it to end😂 it did fit me so well not too loose not too tight, so yeah, I thought that arms gonna be short with 3/3 (9) but after attaching them it was perfect Making squares are easy but time consuming and you do get bored by making same thing again and again. Overall it turned out beautiful I love sunflowers 🌻 and I LOVED IT Thank you for this beautiful and easy tutorial ♥️
Thanks on showing how to put everything together, that's exactly what I needed! Plus, you did a great job at finishing it, loved the details specially the cuffs. Good bless you!
Hi!!! i just have a question, can i ask the dimensions of one granny square? i want to use this tut to make a cardigan but i didnt make hte same granny squares. thank you if you answer❤❤
Hello, I'm almost done with all of the 54 squares for this and I'm so excited to get it done!! I'm just a little confused about the ribbing parts, how many chains should you make? I think I heard you say 'chain two' but you chain more than two
Great progress! 🎉 Bottom ribbing is about 12 chains wide. To start a new row you have to chain 2 and then do SC in every stitch. Inner ribbing is about 8 stitches wide. :)
Vorrei fare questo gardigan ma non caoisco l'inglese per farlo è possibile in italiano. Mia figlia lo adora ,ma è difficile per me capire. Complimenti sei bravissima .attendo la tua risposta sé puoi grazie .lucia da firenze
I just got here!! Lol I been thinking of making a sunflower cardigan and decided to check on RU-vid and here you are !! This is awesome!!!! Love your cardigan! I already have some squares that I never got to decide what to do with them. That’s what got me thinking. So I’ll make more squares first then I’ll rewind and watch where you connect them all. And add the trims. Can a hoodie be added?
Hi! This is so gorgeous 🥰😍 I just started to crochet a couple of weeks ago and im absolutely obsessed with this pattern, i love it!! I have to ask, how do you keep all the grannies the same?? I have the feeling not all of the ones im making looks the same... Do you block them before attaching?? Or any advise to make them perfect😂?? Thank you!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! ❤ Haha, I'm sure they are the same :D Or at least I didn't have that problem. Maybe just try to pull them a bit to even out the square once you are done with each of them :)
Wow, this is beautiful Could you tell me the dimensions (in cms) of a single granny square My yarn is a little thinner, so it would be more helpful Thank you!
Thank you so much beautiful pattern just doing the trim now it is turning out superb ,, great inspiration !! Took me about 3 weeks , it’s great you can do one squared at a time whenever whenever wanna make another one with different colours… thank you so much great video!!!
I just made a crochet bag with your other sunflower tutorial and loved it! And now really badly want to make this is there possibly a way to make it a little bigger ?
How amazing! 😍 Yes of course, just add extra rows of one type of stitch + corners (3stitches, ch3, 3 stitches) 😊 fyi size small requires 12 cm squares, which is what I made in this video 😊
Hi, I am new to crocheting and wonder if you could tell me if using 50g yarn will give me the same results? I am I right I just need to double the amount I need? Thank you in advance❤
what type of yarn it is exactly and what size of hook does it require? You can use any type of yarn you wish, the most important is to make the square the right size 😊
Hi! How many ball of yarns did you use for this? I'm thinking of making this but I'm not sure how many balls/skeins I'm gonna need to buy. Thank you for your tutorial! ❤🌼
How many balls of yarn did you use for each color and how long would you say this took to finish? In thinking of trying to whip this up for my sisters bday next week 😅 also veey beautiful work and very visually descriptive!!! Thank you!!
I have all the yarn volumes in the beginning of the video 😊 I think 1 week wouldn’t be enough unless that’s the only thing you do for the whole week 😅 but it’s worth trying! Happy birthday to your sister!! ❤️
I started learning chrocheting in Janurary this year. This week, i finnished my sunfower cardigan!🤩 i added pockets and bottons too. So cool, i love it and cant wait to do another one with different colours and patterns😊 thank you!
@@kadekherda7 i made a xl cardigan so more than in the video. I take super fine wool...yes, that was not so clever. So my grannys are smaler than in the video. I needed 80 grannys, 2 for the pockets extra. But in a smaler size, with thicker whol like kristen has, you will need maybe 60 i gues:)
I bought mine form yarnliving.dk To make it longer, just add additional row at the bottom for front and back panels. Same if you want to make the arms longer. :)
Hi! do you have any tips when using a different type of yarn? We only have indophil yarn in our area sadly, it’s thinner so the granny square are about to come out smaller than regular ones
Any yarn works as long as it requires 5 mm crochet hook, or if the squares turns out smaller, add extra rounds to create them bigger. For size small you will need to create 12x12 cm squares. :) Here is a tutorial on how to add extra rounds for these type of granny squares: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VKCyGVKivoI.html
Hello it's been a long time so i dont know if you'll see the comment, but if you do and you plzzzz tell me the total measurements of the full cardigan?? Like the lengths of body and arms and for the chest area?? I want to make this for my friend and her height is about 1.58 and she's in size S 🥺🌻❤️
@@KristinesDay 🥺🌻❤️ thank you for clarifying my questions.. this is the first time I'm making sth like this so I'm a bit confused.. 😅 I hope it turns out as beautiful as yours ✨✨
Hi Kristine ! Hope you're doing well, thank you for all your precised work you share with us on your channel. Those are real treasures and peace of mind as a beginner. I was wondering what are the dimensions of your 54 squares ? You probably already mentioned it before but I can't find the right timer to check where you said it eventually ... If someone else knows, I'm all ears. Take care all of you Greetings from France
