I couldn't help it but I laughed every time Kimberly said "pivot" I am a Friends fan and saw Ross saying "PIVOTTT-PIVOTTT-PIVOTTT" every time. LOL Awesome tutorial! Dresden is my favorite bock!
You, my dear, would make an excellent plastic surgeon! I love your precision and your attention to the little details that make all the difference. You are a great teacher.
Just today (2 yrs after watching this video) I made this Dresden Plate table topper. For years I haven’t been much of a “pinner”but I decided to follow your instructions exactly. I starched my fabrics, cut them carefully, and pinned each blade as I sewed them together. I also used my clapper as I pressed each seam. I must say, this Dresden Plate is so accurately pieced and lays absolutely flat. Thank you Kimberly for teaching this old girl some new tricks. I really enjoy your video tutorials, you are an excellent educator. ❤️
I just got a lazy susan for my table and this would be a perfect accent! I really appreciate your perfectionism. I'm not a perfectionist really but it really bugs me when I see quilters and even gals who make their own clothes make mistakes in their sewing (seams especially) and don't take the time while sewing to make it all match. They're all "oh well!" Hahaha! Anyway - thanks, Kimberly for at least teaching newbies, who don't have old habits to break how to do things properly. No one always gets it right but with minimal effort we can and always can learn new things from each other!
I agree, Kimberly's videos were the first I watched, then I watched some other videos and it's all loosey-goosey, no pinning, no ironing, I had to come back :-)
Love this tutorial style with plenty of instructions but brief and to the point ( not a lot of blah blah dragging the lesson down). You have a very pleasant voice and pacing is perfect for me. I also love your technique and little tips along the way.
Super cute project Kimberly. Thanks for showing each step and how to get the best results. I can see where I would have taken several shortcuts without thinking about it and not had such great results.
This is my second try at making one of these. So far so good. I just have to make my circle and it will be all done. I used a Folktale jolly bar folktale backing.
Made this yesterday. What fun. Everything Dresden is my favorite as it reminds me of my Grandma! Thank you for the fun tutorial. These would make nice placemats or gifts.
@@FatQuarterShopTX LOL I’m almost 72. I’m precise while doing EPP. My machine skills are lacking, unless I’m doing CRAZY quilts. Thanks FAT QUARTER CREW, you keep my bank account empty. ❤️🥰
Thank you so much for the detailed video demo and all the great technique tips! And I'm thinking that Kimberly CAN do applique and it would be as perfect as her pieced quilts!!
I love this. I have made a ring of coffin EPP shapes but have not sewn it together with backing or the center circle. Now I know how to finish it. Thank you for another great tutorial.
Recht herzlichen Dank. Ich spreche kein Wort Englisch. Aber du hast es so toll gezeigt, dass ich es wunderbar nähen konnte. Es ist wunderschön geworden ❤
It’s all that attention to detail that make your project so nice. This is so pretty. I have the Dresden template but not the starburst. Looks like I need to go online and do some shopping.👩🌾💙🧵🪡
I love your video. You explain EVERYTHING. I never use patterns. I could make this without the template. Creating your own template is a unique way of expressing yourself. You did an amazing job.
Really like this and bought the template. I do wish you had show in slower motion for us watching which you you went up and down and over to next Dresden for correct directions without cutting thread c Thank you
This is a great method. I'm thinking a raised flower would even be pretty in a quilt. Allot of work but still. Kind of like your own easy version of trupunto.
Great tutorial! Have already figured this would be a great projects for gifts buying half a yard of varies fabrics. Also love the acorn wall hanging. Will look for that pattern also for me. Thanks Kimberly and Fat Quarter Shop!
