These are so beautiful Nina, I really must give them a try. It's cheered up my day as I've been really poorly with the flu, since Tuesday, and still no sign of getting better. I've never been so poorly. Thank you Nina, for brightening my day with your lovely tutorial. Take care, Val xx
The flowers look so lovely preserved in that way. I live in the desert here in Texas so it is very difficult to find the types of flowers small and able to be dried. I will have to put on my thinking cap for ideas- maybe small leaves ( though they are hard to find too!). Thanks for the inspiration!
This is an awesome idea!!! I’ve done a similar thing using napkins over dried plants on cardstock (which I think was your inspiration originally too), but I love the translucent effect & colours involved by using the teabags. Especially since I tend to have rosehip & hibiscus coloured tea bags (tasty tea too!). But I also bought some empty teabags online, so could use any of my ink sprays/watercolour/Brushos etc to colour them first & give them a unique look. Would never have thought of enhancing the flowers & leaves using alcohol markers either 😱 You are a genius!!!
What a lovely idea Nina. They look absolutely gorgeous. Never thought to do this. Thanks so much for sharing. Your videos are so easy to follow along and its very easy to listen to you. Love your channel.
These are wonderful Nina! I love the inspiration! These are amazing just how you've created, I thought about adding some stamped features onto the teabag, then adding the flowers...🤔 thanks again for awesome creation and inspiration!!😍
I just found your channel and am now binge watching 😊 I also dry flowers to use in my non-paper crafts, but you are giving me loads of inspiration!! Thank you!!
So beautiful, I have started saving tea bags but I was not sure what I was going to do with them, thank you for the brilliant tutorial and some inspiration too 🥰
In the one with the gorgeous heather, could you possibly take a syringe and inject some more matte gel beside the flower then press it down? Would it negatively affect the entire teabag and flower? These are SO beautiful! I have a flower press I haven't used for decades. I'm going to get busy with it! Thanks for sharing!
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia AWESOME! I love that heather one. I am from California and when I traveled to UK I collected and pressed lots of heather. I simply love their tiny beauty!
Hello Nina. - thanks for this video. I am a big tea drinker and have saved many many bags to learn how to use them. Now I have your ideas to use! What would you use if you didn't have any dried flowers? Also, could you use 'Gel medium' or 'Gloss medium' as well as 'Matte' ? I am very much a beginner in this sort of thing and would love your answers. I do have Modge Podge however. What would be your ratio for mixing it with water? I also love to see you put together your Daphnes Diary pages. Do always use the elastic to create the way you attach the signatures or could you use string, embroidery thread, or cord? Love your procedure for them! Hi from Utah, USA!
Hello Debbie, leaves would also look wonderful with these tea as, even craft skeleton leaves if you have any. How about feathers? You could also use any type of paper ephemera, or even postage stamps. Hope this gives you a few ideas. As for glue. Gel medium will be fine. Gloss medium will just give you a shiny finish instead of matte, but will work just fine. If you are using ModPodge, I would water it down to a 3 parts glue 1 part water ratio as it will be much easier to handle. Here is the link to my latest DD journal as I have used string for the binding. Hope this helps ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YOcX2O5ArHk.html 💕
Oh, thanks for answering my silly questions. Like I said, I am such a beginner. - I am more of a scrapbooker, but love what you do. When I look to buy the glues, I get kind of confused. I want to make the DD journals that you do, so need the right stuff. I have years of the magazine, double copies. I guess I love to collect too!
If I protect them with a covering as in this video, then no, but if I keep them in a tin as loose flowers and leaves, then yes, they do deteriorate and lose their colour. You can always add alcohol markers to bring them back to life however. Hope this helps ❤️
Hello, I just saw your video for first time, I’m just getting started with dry flowers I love what you’ve done with the tea bags, I was wondering if pan pastels could be used before ? Hum Thank you Cricket
Gorgeous! I love working with my dried flowers. I think they add so much beauty to anything you make. Thank you for this tutorial and for the reminder to get my flowers out more often. 😊❤
It’s always a pleasure to see your creations with dried flowers! They are always beautiful, I love them. I look forward to seeing how you will integrate them into your journal. Good Sunday.
Hello PF. Just another gardening injury. Had a fight with some barbed wire whilst clearing the rest of the leaves! Note to self, don’t take your gardening gloves 🧤off next time! 💕 x
Thank you so much Nina, I really really enjoyed and loved watching you creating this Ephemera for your journal and you could make cards from them too. Sunday is always a real treat for me. And I really really love ❤️ the small bit’s of tea left in the bag’s too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
They are beautiful Nina, I love the extra color. My dried flowers will definitely benefit from a bit of added color. Thanks so much, have an awesome week.
These are not only gorgeous but perfect for my tiny dried flowers I have kept from gifts. I watched you do this between acetate but I think I like this better, super tutorial, Thank you.
What a wonderful tutorial!! Thanks so much for the lovely ideas! I have so many collected tea bags that I wasn’t sure what to do with all of them but I LOVE pressing flowers and nature journaling so I’m so surprised that I’d never thought of this. I’m incredibly excited to try it now. 🤩👏🏻👏🏻
