To everyone who's studying : Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late-night study session, you won't wake up anyone🎧 • a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.☕ • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone, a few pens, paper, or whatever you need.⌨ •Anything else you could need, what about a heating pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐈 Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that's even better than listening to music while reading the book. I hope y'all had a good day, if not, that's okay too. There's a Japanese term, Ichigo Ichie. From my understanding, it describes the concept that every moment is once in a lifetime. We'll never be the exact same person, in the exact same place, in the exact same conditions. It's a little intimidating, but also a beautiful reminder of being present as much as we can in our lives.
I love that you do 30 mins and 5 min breaks. Despite it only being a small difference, I prefer it over the typical 25:5 thing. So thank you for that! :) Love your videos!
Also it breaks the round off habit. Like if we do 25/5. it would be like 6-6.30, 6.30-7, 7-7.30am.. but for 30/5 it is 6-6.35, 6.35-7.10,7.10-7.45am...

I'm working on extending my teaching license from preK-4 to preK-8 and this timer/study along is fantastic! I've tried a lot of other pomodoro timers that had either too long or too short work:break ratios and this one is perfect. Plus the ambience with the coffee pouring and papers rustling does wonders for helping get me in my flow. When I was in college my top study area was the cafeteria because the ambience of an occupied room really helped. Now, living in a one-bedroom with limited public spaces to visit, this is the next best thing!

I use to find myself very tired and demotivated from time to time because of all the work and anxiety, but this video and the timing of the breaks are perfect to let me stay focused on what I am doing right now, without all the blue feeling (and sometimes some mindfulness technique help to do that too). I really wasn't feeling myself today, I came to the sad realization that I hadn't kept enough notes with dates and sources when I needed to keep records at a specific time. I wish I knew what I know now...I would have handled things so much differently! Anyway, good luck to anyone who's struggling with exams or collective assignments, individual or in groups. Remember you don't have to be perfect, you are just doing the best you can at a given time. But you are also full of potential you can't even imagine and you are still so unaware of it!

Tip for all studiers- It's a really good idea to listen to this sometime when you are free. (When you are cooking, reading, scrolling through social media, eating, while you are sleeping/right before you fall asleep- just sometime you are not so focused and pretty chill.) Just listen to it non-stop the full hour. Then, when you are studying and you play this music, you will be able to concentrate so much more. Human brains can concentrate more when you are listening to something you have experienced before. Listening to a new song and doing work can get you unfocused. It's best to stick to one study playlist and listen to that one every time you are studying, and only change playlists once every few months. And when you decide to change, just listen through the full thing once before your actual study session. Happy Studying!
