I remember those busy day of motherhood and keeping a house running so everyone could be successful at their outside endeavours. Now I’m retired, with 8 lovely grandchildren mostly grown up with one of them off to fight wild fires in northern BC Canada. Time flies Gayna! You are making a lovely home for your family. Well done! I really love your gardens. Jealous of your weather as I live in the high desert of BC and we seldom get rain. A challenge to garden for sure.
No rain! That would feel crazy to me. I’m sat here in my car in a downpour waiting for Wilf to come out of school. You must be very proud of your family xxx
You’ve got the 1940’s housewife vibe going on again Gayna, it suits you😁 that was so heartwarming what Wilf said, and I’m sure he will remember it in years to come. Please can I come to your Hen Party 😂 love & Hugs Suze. 🐓🤗😘 xxx
We missed the Northern Lights too. We are down in a dip so have a limited view of the night sky. Im reading that more are expected this year, so it may be worth getting the Aurora Watch UK app on your phone so you can set it to alert you when activity levels get high. Its lovely Wilf said he would remember that night forever, even though you didnt see the lights.
I REALLY need to learn how to sew. Being a shortie, I have about 10 dresses that need taking up! It's ridiculous. It scares me, just like knitting!!!! I'm now knitting socks though, so maybe there's hope on the sewing front! 😂😂
We slept through an amazing Aurora the other night and people captured the most beautiful images! Very annoyed that we missed it all! Love a thunder storm providing not to much heavy rain with it! Glad someone else calls them “daps” proper Somerset! Love WW xx
My daughter captured some beautiful pictures in mid Wales with the iPhone just pointing to the dark sky- absolutely stunning results! Purple/blue / pinks 😘🥰💕💜💕💙💜💕
Hi Gayna.Lovely vlogs especially Spring in the English garden.Oz in the southern states are having magnificently colourful displays of Southern Lights (Aurora Australis). The beauty is visible for the first time in 20 years. You can check it on RU-vid.All stunning.Cheers,Kath
The colours of the NL on Tarporley Facebook were amazing, purples, pinks, lilacs. Me & husband had been for a meal that night & driving home (10pm) i did think the sky looked a bit unusual. Wish I’d known what was coming I’d have gone outside later too, hey ho! X
Some people might not know that plimsoles/trainers are called daps in Somerset. I had never heard the word until I arrived in the county. Maybe a bird discovered your borage from the garden? I love that you are SO excited about your chickens arriving! You had the thunder yesterday thst we never had! We did the tunnel walk to Bath today...I the dry, but it's raining now. We didn't see the Northern lights either, but that comment from Wilf almost made me cry. I have a friend who lives between Bristol and Burnham-on Sea and she saw it! x
I've heard that the northern lights were spectacular in Wyoming, and we weren't there to enjoy them😢. You inspired me to order the meadow skirt and to start gardening. Now I can't wait to get home and plant all 80 of my flower pots.
We didn't get to see the AB either. My son who is in Fareham , Hampshire. He managed to see it on Saturday but had to wait till midnight for the sky to clear. Beautiful photos.
Wilf’s comment to you is priceless. I managed to see the NL where I live in West Sussex but only because people were putting pics on FB that reminded me to look for them! 😊
Loved the sound of the rain and thunder can’t wait for a bit of Winter here in Adelaide , I’m sure that will last a minute before grumbling lol. Looking forward to the chickens arrival too. Xxxx
How wonderful your boys are! So glad that you had the adventure of chasing the northern lights with Wilf -- that's a win in itself, even if they weren't visible! Thanks for the lovely vlog! I have borage everywhere (except where I expect it!) but it's great! What a productive weekend! 🙌
Looking forward to seeing the chooks. I think many people as far south as we are can’t see them too well with the naked eye. A lens can pick them up better. Glad Wilf loved it though. I used to take my Chris out into the New Forest and we had garden relaxers, hot chocolate and blankets and just spent hours looking up. ❤️💔
What special memories, ones to cherish. We still didn’t see them through the camera either. Not to worry we will travel to see them one day. I’d rather see them with the naked eye than through a camera because I might as well watch a video on them if I’m looking at a screen anyway. X
A thunder storm here in Northumberland (I’m on holiday, I adore Northumberland) last night but no sign of the Nothern Lights. 🙁 Do you get your energy at the local farm shop too Gayna? Xx
😂😂😂 Just blessed to have good health and a lot of motivation and also a big lump of sense of responsibility. The combo keeps me ploughing on. I am very appreciative of having vigour because on the days when I am weary I find it very frustrating. Xxx
what a lovely vlog as usual Gayna, I think you look really lovely in that dress , your garden is amazing... love the thought of you and Wilf running across the field in search of the Northern lights... I missed seeing them too.. our jobs as mothers & Grandmothers is creating memories for our children as well giving our love, time and guidance... you are doing an AMAZING job...
Oh yes I have seen that done on regular chicken wire, I guess it would work for these herras fence panels too. But it’s such a large job I think ill never get around to it 😝
Thank You, for sharing your lovely back garden with us. You put so much planning and work into it, and it really pays off! BTW: a drawstring threader, or 'easy threader' will make getting the elastics into your next skirt a snap. So much faster than a safety pin or even a bodkin.
My neighbours dog attacked them. We are still baffled that she managed to get in and that she did it. It was ever so ever so sad. I’m going over the top with the fence now so the free range area will be bullet proof.
Can I ask, do you live on a farm, or next to one? Love your style, just started following you so probably missed any previous convos around this. If so please point me in the right direction to the blog concerned.
Hi and welcome! We don’t live on a farm but we are surrounded by farmland that our friends/neighbours own. Our son works on that farm and he is hoping to be an agricultural engineer. We live in the south west of England 🥰😚😚
The pretty dress with no pockets 😤looked very on you quite the 1920/30s ish you carry that look off well The chickens new abode will eventually look good surrounded by Montana Rubén’s the fencing should keep out Marauding dog Looks like location is better for your PJ morning trip to open up the night coop 👍
No dogs will be able to get in this coop once I have finished with it. The neighbour is going to do training with the dog and desensitise her to the hens. I feel confident 😁
