Your videos always bring me peace. I am learning to adjust to our empty nest after homeschooling all 4 of our children k-12. Our life has not gone as planned but watching your videos helps me remember God is in control. You have a beautiful ministry.

I really enjoyed your reflective musings on how life changes as we age, and your emphasis on embracing the changes. Every stage of life has joys and blessings and we just need to be open to them. After my children were grown I went back to school and became a teacher of young children. Now I am retired, and I'm a busy grandmother with lots of littles in my life again! I love your emphasis on nurturing, whether it be creating a beautiful home, tending a garden, or caring for the people in our lives. It's all wonderful!

Oh boy you sounded so much like me and I so relate. When my boys left home I couldn’t believe the emptiness I felt. I went from a house full of boys my two sons and all their friends to silence. Now they are in their 30s and I still miss my little boys. My youngest has a dog I helped raise and I pick her up everyday except weekends and pour all my nurturing on her and it’s wonderful she’s my buddy. The minute you put those lamp shades on I loved them. I think they look perfect with your bedding. I also changed my bedding for the cooler months this week. I live on the southern coast of Maine and leaves are turning already and it’s been getting a bit cooler. The kids went back to school this week and the tourists are finally thinning out . Iam surrounded by the ocean and walking Molly every morning at one of our parks on the harbor is a constant joy we both love. I never get tired of the stunning beauty and smell of sea roses and salty ocean air. When we go home I have coffee call my friend in Connecticut,and we read the Bible togeather and pray. Then I pick something Iam going to work on either in the house or outside Whether it’s organizing , cleaning , or decorating , baking ,going to library or thrifting . When I was younger I felt like I had to tackle everything all at once but I’ve learned to slow down and nurture myself by just doing what I feel like doing instead of feeling like I have to do it all in a day. I find just making even little changes makes a great impact and is so satisfying. Your pie filling looks so delicious. I go to a local farm for my apples how blessed you are to have your own. I loved your video! The 1% change in the house and garden every day was so inspirational. I try to look at one beautiful thing every day as well as make something beautiful in my home every day. As a homeschool Mom of 5 who are all grown and gone as well, I love to create and nurture and I'm never going to stop! ❤️

Thanks for the message at the end of your video - Stay nurturing. My kids are grown and gone and live a distance. Admittedly, I've gotten away from nurturing my home like I used to when they all lived at home. Thanks for the reminder! I will dig out some of my favorite fall recipes and make them for my hubby!

I always look at your videos as a treat. All other videos I just came by and watch as needed. But your videos I make sure I take time to be able to sit quietly and watch the whole thing. I also like to make them bigger and I enjoy just getting a cup of tea or a cup of coffee while I'm watching... It's like a little treat for me. Thank you!

This video really spoke to me. I didn't homeschool, but I did raise four kids, all of whom are in college or grad school now, and one that is about to get married! I can relate to what you have referred to as what you value now as these things are the same focuses of my life- pets, garden, home, simplicity, and quality. This was a joy to watch.

Apple pies are my love language too!!! Love when the Mrs. is in the kitchen, in her apron with apple pie baking. Those are core comfort memories!!!

I understand exactly how you feel. I was recently asked, by my significant other, what I want for this part of my life and I answered with "simplicity and peace". And it's very true. My children are grown and making their own lives, and even though I miss their chaos, I'm also really enjoying the quiet.

Sarah, I think I prefer the black lampshades. They connect so well to your bed frame. Since I have reduced the number of days I work per week, I have taken advantage of spending more time in my garden taking care of all the odd projects and sorting through unfinished projects. It's very relaxing and satisfying to get these things done. Sarah, what is the name of the paint colour on the mantle in your bedroom? I think it's what I need for my dining room redo.❤ I love all your videos!

I love the new shades! Very peaceful - very lovely and a more pleasing feel than the black ones in my opinion - but most people seem to like the black ones.

I love your sweetness, you are adorable!! I think the lighter shades blend in well and they let your eyes flow around the room, and it soften your space. Yes, I have garden and took care of flower beds for 40 plus years, I am tired. This year I am reducing and removing landscape, no more gardens. I want to read, practice my art, decorate my home , focus on being healthy and fit I hope we are snowed in this winter, I would loved to have no place to go, just being home.

Loved this season change video. Lampshades are beautiful but the dark ones looked so pretty with pillow for fall and winter. Either way looks pretty! I only had one daughter and oh my did my world change when she left for college....now I have 3 grand kids and 2 great grand children. God has certainly blessed us.

Oh my Sarah, this video resignated with me! I am in a New Season and honestly have been struggling! But this video brought about New Creative ideas of Creating New Rythmns that i never thought of. As ive gotten older, i Crave the Simple Things in Life. Today, i ordered a New Rug for my Living room and im SO excited to Refresh Our Space!! My brother had a R ridgeback many years ago. I've shown him yours in the past. Today I got to show him the newbie. So cute. Did you have your canned apple pie filling recipe on last year? I did get one somewhere last year, but I made sure to sign up to get yours in case its different. My daughter and son in love are huge apple crisp fans. So easy to make it with canned apple pie filling. Love all your videos and I agree, dresses are not only easy, but they just make you feel nicer and more ladylike, especially in summer. Sarah, I just love the way you share your home and your thoughts. I hope that you and your husband can make some new and fun memories together in these empty nest years. My husband and I have been empty nesters since our two children went away to a private boarding school for their high school years. Then college and marriage came along. We recently started to travel more. Our trip to Ireland in May and into the beginning of June was in celebration of our 40th anniversary. I love that platter and the dark lamp shades in the bedroom. You have such a lovely home.

Apple everything is my favorite. Homemade oatmeal cooked with fresh apples. Apple gallette Apple pie Apple butter Apple cider Apples with peanut butter Apple cider spiced baked donuts too. I make those about once a year and share them. Very popular. The list goes on

I'm also thinking I like the dark lampshades better, Just the contrast with all the white:) I agree the Thrift stores in the PNW just aren't as nice and fun as they used to be. My cousin wants me to visit in fly over but not sure how I would get my purchases home.

I love touches of black in a room, it’s just rich looking to me but I really like the gray shades too. They reminded me of wool and since winter is coming up they would pair nicely with a plaid throw which I adore. Your beautiful dress is just perfect for fall and looked so nice on you. Pro tip from MIGardener about growing bigger apples: cull them multiple times in a season. Each apple should be “a phone call away” (i.e. about 5-6”) from each other.🤙🏼
