I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out. If bookings rise, I’ll be tempted to check it out! What I loved about vipkid was the simplicity and lack of lesson planning.
I have been with VIPKID since 2017, but like most people, I took a break during the pandemic. I opened slots again in August after I quit a job, and I am nearly fully booked! I like being my own manager again. Setting my own schedule. NO lesson planning. The pay is not what it used to be, but I am so thankful #vipkid
I also stopped in 2021 after teaching for 5 years with them. I opened some slots starting Sept 11 and I have taught 20 classes in 2 weeks! I love that #vipkid does not require minimum hours (like some ESL companies still do)

I heard that China stopped enforcing rules and parents use VPN to get around rules. Also, they sign up under adults but then the kids take the classes. I started vipkid in 2018 and have been off and on ever since depending on life. The pay in 2018/2019/2020 was 🔥🔥
I didn't know about the email probably deleted it without reading it. I quit in November of 2021, had a ton of students when I quit. I emailed them for a contract and they just gave me one. Opened up a few days ago...no students yet....we will see what happens! I plan to apply for preply or out school as well so I can do some daytime teaching.

Hey Kristen! I know I can always count on you for the best VIPKid updates. I've been getting the same e-mail invitation to open up my schedule again. I haven't taught any classes since November 2021. Gonna open up some slots and look forward to new bookings. Also, Outschool has been on my mind off and on and I've downloaded your Outschool guide. I'm going to focus on getting classes listed this month!
Former VIPKID Teacher: Just opened up my schedule again, and I'm starting to get booked. I'm shocked, because I opened up my slots several times since 2021 and nothing happened. I am wondering about the Summer though. PPT and Peaks times disappear around April I believe. I wonder if that's when it slows down for the Summer.
Technically I never left but have not opened slots since 2021. I’ve seen a few of my friends get bookings. I opened slots purely because of curiosity. So far no bookings but I don’t really care. I have another job.

Omg I keep deleting the VIP emails. I've been so depressed without my VIPKid crew and loved it all the time. Online teaching hasn't been the same. I left outschool and other platforms. Since cyber education has exploded here I'm exhausted from my FT cyber teaching job. I wish VIP was still a real option for me, even a few hours per week.
Honestly, stick to that over those online teaching platforms that have full time expectations even though you are an Ic! I work in corporate now and it’s remote too! I got annoyed by teaching honestly. Glad that these platforms are acting desperate now but times have changed

I applied for VIPKid but I was not accepted (this was back in 2018) so I started working for Palfish. Do you think it is a good idea to apply for VIPKid again?

@@aznbeachanimegrl Sorry that happened. Right now they have a hiring freeze going on, and unfortunately no idea when that will be lifted. I would just apply somewhere else.
I taught from 2016 until 2021 and went from making 28 an hour and they brought me down to like 16 an hour. I used to teach 88 hours a week and the thousands of dollars they stole from me after my car accident is disgusting, thousands of 5 apple reviews and over half a decade of dedication for what ? I opened my own school my organization is partnered with out school. I have a huge name for myself on my independent teacher platform on outschool. I wish everyone the best, but please be aware tread carefully.
