📌 Ingredients for 1 loaf of bread
(tray 23x10x10 cm)
500 g white flour type 650
7 g instant yeast (or 25 g fresh yeast)
6 g of salt
30 g of sugar
250 ml warm water (max. 40 degrees)
50 ml of oil
on top
50 ml of water
1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
1 tablespoon poppy/sesame seeds
_______
🔪 Preparation
Sift the flour into a large bowl. Add dry yeast and sugar. Mix, then add salt. Start kneading by pouring in the warm water and oil a little at a time.
Knead for 7-8 minutes in a food processor or 15 minutes by hand. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size (approx. 1 hour).
Turn the dough out onto the work surface and knead it a little to remove the gases accumulated during the fermentation. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and shape them into balls. Let them rest for 10 minutes, covered with a towel so they don't dry out.
Roll out each part of the dough into a rectangle of approx. 30x20 cm. Roll the dough on the long side forming a roll/stick.
Interweave the 2 dough rolls, like in a bun and place them in the tray lined with baking paper. Leave the bread to rise in a warm place, covered, for another 30 minutes.
Before putting the bread in the oven, anoint it with the water in which you dissolved the bee honey and sprinkle it with poppy seeds.
Bake the bread in the preheated oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes.
Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack. Slice the bread only after it has cooled.
