I've made this bread all the time, it's now become my cinnamon raisin bread recipe! I've mixed it with wheat flour, and made it into rolls, the possibilities are endless! This is by far the easiest bread recipe I've made without my bread machine. One little trick I've learned, is to wait to heat the oven until it's in the pan, and sit on the top of the stove to give it about 10 minutes to rise further, and with the raisins it will make it a bit lighter. {When I roll it up with cinnamon sugar & raisins it needs that extra time} I'm so glad to see Patara looking so healthy, and feeling good! Answered prayer!
Not to worry about the measurements, Patera. My grandma always said recipes were a guide not set in stone. She always tweeked hers! Thanks for an easy to follow recipe!
Patera, sometime last year you posted a no knead bread recipe that I tried. It was my first time ever making yeast bread at home, and your video inspired me to make my own bread from here on out. I have made so much bread, and have graduated to using sourdough in my rotation. My whole family loves it and I've saved a ton of money.
That no-knead artisan bread recipe was so good! It made it into my regular rotation, too! Made a gluten-free version for my grown daughter by just using gluten-free cup for cup flour, and she loves it!
@@salonsavy6476I’m doing sourdough too. It’s taken me a while to finally get in the swing of keeping and using it but it’s worth the effort. I’ve found lots of recipes besides bread: scones, waffles and my favorite, cookies!
I got a kick out of watching you put the recipe together. It reminded me of the way my dear granny cooked. She was a fabulous cook, but she hardly ever measured things. She made a verrrry best pies and I wanted to learn from her. Went for my lesson: pie crust-put in the flour in until it comes to about here in the bowl, put about this much salt in the palm of your hand and mix it in with the flour, then put in two scoops or about this much lard in-the went on and I finally ask about exact measurements and she said, honey you can feel when it’s just right. Well I never got my just feel right together, never could make them like hers. I’m now 75 years old and I can still remember the taste of those pies, my mouth is watering right now.
That's so sweet and I know just what you mean, my grandmother was the same way... delicious pies, cakes. I'm 73, make pretty good pies, cakes, bread, rolls, but I have to stick to measurements, haha😊
Going to make this tomorrow! We’ve got 8-10 inches of snow coming on top of the 8 we already got so we will be hunkered down all day. And I already know this is going to be a keeper so I wrote the recipe out on a card and it’s in my recipe box. Stay warm and safe everyone!
Western Illinois here....2nd Winter Storm Warning this week that will become Blizzard Warning later today. I am gonna try this bread too. Total comfort food! ❤🍞
I’ve been dying to make my first loaf of homemade bread!! Thank you so much for posting this! 2 loaves might be a bit much for us so I plan on taking the other loaf to my sweet 80 year old neighbor - I can’t wait!
I absolutely love this video and the Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. People have baked for years without scales and fancy equipment. Many years ago, I thought, It cannot be so difficult. I sometimes get a loaf that looks like a magazine cover and sometimes it’s just plain ugly. But ya know what? They both taste delicious. Be not afraid, you young gals. God bless you ❤
Yay! I've been waiting for this this bread recipe video to drop. Squirming with excitement just like Olive looking at that warm slice with butter and jam. Thanks for sharing it, Patera. 😋
For breakfast every morning, my grandfather would have a slice of my grandma'a homemade bread with butter(made from their cow's milk) and homemade strawberry jam. Every morning without fail❤
Thank you. I'm going to make it tomorrow. Getting bad weather and nothing is better than homemade bread baking in the oven on my way cold winter day. Love you
So sorry about your sugar bowl getting broken. I know how things happen for sure. Love that the emphasis is on fast, good, easy bread and not on picture perfect. I made a batch yesterday in my auto baker that my Mama gave me years ago. I let it mix and rise in the baker, but removed it and shaped it. Made my first hamburger buns (6) and 1 loaf from the same recipe. Almost the same recipe as yours, no honey, though. BTW, every time I see you milking, I miss our Nubian girls so much.
nothing better than home baked bread !!!!!!.......for those afraid , there is even no -knead bread !!!1..... it is the first breads I ever made and I was hooked after that !!!
I don't know how I missed this recipe 🤦 this is the best bread recipe ever! No fail and so quick! Didn't last long once it came out of the oven 😂 I take it this was a winner ❤
Heads up, gluten-free folks! Should be able to make this bread by substituting any gluten-free cup for cup flour in place of the AP flour. Might just need a little extra rising time. About to give it a try! 🤞
OMG Partara. Excellent recipe. I have never done bread the old way, just a bread machine. Your instructions were so easy to understand. That you thank you. I cut the recipe in half, as it is just me and hubby.
My mouth’s watering 🤤 I’m making pork spare ribs tomorrow so this bread would be perfect for it. Now, I’ll find out how well I do kneading it with one hand, but hey, don’t sweat it. Thanks Patara😂 🧡 Lorie 😊
I watch your videos for many reasons, but hearing you sing just makes me so happy. I could listen to you all day. I start reminiscing on the songs and can't get them out of my head!
Oh just what we need eoth the weather coming in this weekend. You name it rain, cold snow thn frigid temps toll midfle next week. Hugs has a test tomortow so ip n out at crack of dswn. Stay safe n warm everyone n God bless .
Made this bread today and it was easy and it tastes amazing ❤ I’m snowed in here in the mountains of KY. 8 to 9” Sunday/Monday and another 4 or 5” today. This bread saved my sanity 😂 Thank you girl!!
Patera, Thank you so much for sharing such amazing, but simple and affordable recipes. I am no longer a special occasion baker. 🎉😊🎉 We now have homemade baked goods for atleast one of our meals each day. 💗My husband is absolutely loving it, so when I mentioned being curious about learning to mill my own grains, he did not hesitate to get what was needed. He even spent 5 hours today assembling a hutch, to give me a place to mill easily. Our kitchen is tiny, so this is a tremendous blessing. Although, I am excited about the mill, I agree with what you teach about needing back ups for your backups. So, one day next week, I will be making your one hour bread. 💗😊💗 God bless you Patera!
Oh heavens I had that kinda day yesterday. Got a new fridge, had to take door off of it and the house, then it wouldn't fit in the kitchen (yeah my fault) so my 19 year old took off 100 yo trim. We damaged the cord getting it in. I was cutting bread and sliced my thumb pretty bad, thank God for nails. lol Today is a new day. Of course its a snow storm and I have to work this morning so hopefully I can get there and back without issues.
Thank you for a wonderful, quick bread recipe! I cant wait to try it out! My daughter will be excited too! She absolutely loves making your coal miner's cake recipe! Hope yall stay safe and warm this upcoming week! Much love from East Texas!
I just made the bread while the bread was rising and baking I made Tuscan soup and Italian salad. What a wonderful bread!!! My dough was sticky so I added a bit of flour while kneading.
Finally made this 😁 I used my breadmaker on dough setting as I always do. Came out great. Lol I also use my dishwasher to proof when its cold. I put the dough in there after I have run and emptied it. Maybe someone out there can use my hacks 😉
