the deck requires a bit of tinkering if you want to truly take advantage of all it has to offer, so i listed some resources i used in the description ◡̈ once it’s set up it’s truly the dreamiest handheld i’ve ever owned, capable of running most indie and AAA titles at a v decent 30fps+ also - if you put down a deposit for the deck soon, you might be able to purchase and receive it before the end of the year due to ramped production, thanks valve! (*not sponsored lol)
well there is the way that we can play genshine in steamOS(Linux) but.... the developer of that steamOS genshine luncher dosen't want to be famous... so I Can't paste the link but there is definity the possible way. Trust me (Hint : did you know about the Lutris? )
I finally caved and put down a reservation order literally last week (cries in Q4) so I'm very, very excited that you're making some 'Steam Deck' content 😍
Remember this is a Linux console. It may require some tinkering to get working with every game you play.. you can always ask the steam community for help. And also you can install windows on it
i looove my steam deck, had it for a month and i’ve been playing with it so much. i was debating between a switch or the deck and i ended up going with the deck because of its flexibility and bigger game library (steam store) and that you can emulate on it. it just made more sense to me because i’m more interested interested in the games available in the steam store and the deck can run more demanding games and that you can save so much from buying games of steam. i was actually really surprised lmao with how many games go on sale everyday on the steam store.
you made the right choice, I have the switch lite and a Deck, and let's just say it only took a week of me playing with the deck to sell my Switch and then just install Yuzu games to my deck. I am also loving every little update Valve is doing their updates have yet to break my custom work on Steam OS unlike Windows does every single time.
I just got mine after waiting 7 months and it feels like everyone is getting theirs with me! I'm obsessed with it I've been using it all day and even though I have a huge gaming pc at home I like bringing it around college with me and playing games on my breaks
@@Wattermelondog I ended up getting a used oled for a sick price and there’s nothing wrong with it, been enjoying the new pokémon violet and i got super smash bros and mario kart for when the cousins are over at christmas! just thought it was more family friendly plus the handheld oled is great for someone like me that missed pokémon despite the minor issues
@@Nemesis_xo it is the cheaper option and if youre a pretty casual gamer completely fine, but you could get a steam deck and a dock for it and buy some controllers and emulate switch games just fine, even for local multiplayer with your cousins. but if you prefer playing on the actual hardware, thats completely fine too
Wow, thank you so much for the credit in the description 💜 Really happy to see others are showing off their Dual Boot upgrades for the Steam Deck, awesome video! 💜
I got mine recently. For now I'm fine with just SteamOS, it's impressive how much you can do with it - I installed Origin through booting it in Steam for example which is bonkers to me lol but if I'm ever bored I might try installing a windows. Absolutely love this handheld to death already though, I've been playing FFXIV in bed - mostly leveling gathering jobs right now because I'm not too confident about running dungeons like this yet (I am allergic to the cross hotbar...) but so far it's really dream come true. I think I might be even able to do my work on it with the right setup which is insane, I can see myself stop taking my laptop places and just taking my Steam Deck instead. I was also worried it'd be uncomfortbale due to the sheer size but it's actually much more comfortable than my Switch to me.
I do really want a steamdeck and this video is helpful in ways other reviewers aren’t c: I think I’ll wait until it’s perfected tho since I heard the second gen is in the works
My husband got the 512 and I got the lower model and both our cases are the same minus the blue coloring on the logo and added screen cloth, so overall great quality no matter which one you order!
I didn’t know there is a thing called steam deck, it’s expensive and since I already have a Nintendo switch I am not quite sure but I recently got interested in valorant and other pc games and since I don’t have a PC and might not have it in the future, let’s see maybe I will buy one one day 💗
@@mostnoob5507 for 400 u wont ever get the performance of a steam deck on a laptop, the steam deck is a pc and the best price for performance, it takes a 20 min video on yt to do a dual boot where u got windows and steam os, on windows every game runs good and anticheat aint a problem, valorant runs over 100 fps aswell as r6s and overwatch, all u gotta do to run on the big screen is a screen a keyboard and mouse or u can just use the steam deck as a controller and still use the big tv, aswell as its a great work machine unvalid af points.
So excited for mine! I ordered in March, so my expected window is July - Sep, hopefully its soon! Love the Dbrand skin too - I have them on my switches and they last so well! Cute content as always!
Have fun with the deck! Had mine for 1 month now and absolutely love it. Had to get my deck shipped to to my brother than shipped in here Japan. I also have Genshin but I still don’t want to risk using my main account haha. I’m still waiting for valve to release the dual boot so I can run both Windows and Linux
idk why valve stated that you have to wait for them to do this, you can already dual boot windows and steamOS, there are plenty of tutorials online on how to do it.
New subscriber here. I absolutely love the overall aesthetic pallete of the deck and your setup. I enjoy working with product colors with that charming and sweet feel like rose, cyan, magenta, etc. I wish more hardware would come in those type of colors. I'd enjoy building them for others. Lovin' the channel and content, Cheers!
Yo, this channel is wild. What video did I come across? Shit looks clean. I feel like I stumbled into marshmellow land. Crazy aesthetics on that deck. Need to trick mine out too now.
Looking forward to your customization vids for steamdeck that will make it extra hard for me to choose between this and switch 🤗 Also super hyped to see you playing cult of the lamb definitely addictive indeed
Thank you for this video. It helped me decide that it might be better for me to get a steam deck rather than a new laptop since I only want to use it to game and this seems more versatile with the compatibility to do what I like about pc gaming. ❤
Finally decided to order a Deck after missing my pre order window when it came out. I didn't even think about playing Genshin on it, there is so much this thing can do!
Thank you for this video!!! I have been wanting a handheld console for the longest time and was about to cave and get a switch since I know so many people love them, but I haven’t because most of the games I play are PC. My PC isn’t really meant for gaming so I tend to go easy and play mobile versions if available, but I want something that can give me what I want without me having to upgrade and spend a lot on a new PC. This looks like the perfect solution! I didn’t even know that steam was creating a handheld console, and I have to say, they did an amazing job! I just put my reservation in because of this video!
Honestly one of the comfiest experiences I've ever had with gaming, maybe with the exception of playing Pokémon under my blankets as a child. Beats the Switch even. I love the way it plays and all it can do. Haven't put Windows on it yet but I might dual boot it one day.
I have to say, I just discovered your channel recently but your videos are very well made and high quality. Great work and love your whole aesthetic you have going with your channel.
I am very happy for you I basically got the same set up as you but yeah I’m really big fan also I subscribed to your channel you really inspired me to build my PC and I will keep watching your videos
im currently looking for a different way to play genshin (currently only mobile rn..) at the moment i cant make my own pc (which wld be preferred for me ig) i was reccommened your review of the aya air then decided to check out this one of the steam deck; my question is which would be better for genshin ? genshin would be my main focus, it seems both are good for other games well ao thats a plus ^^
My reservation email finally came in (delayed by a week due to Canada), and wanted to see how Genshin looks on it. What really shocked me was seeing the transformation of yours between the unboxing and the gameplay!
i used to hate genshin (dont come @ me pls) but watching ur videos might have convinced me to start playing it 😭😭😭 girl u changed my perspective of genshin and for that i wanna thank you like deadass!! ur videos are so calming and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes AHHHH 💗💗🫶🏼🫶🏼
I wish I could achieve this look with my deck. But like, more manly? I guess. I love the cute aesthetic, but I’m not sure I could rock this haha. Guys at work would tear me apart xD but I do wish there was some customization like this that I could aim towards. Love your deck, your style, and your videos non the less. Keep up the good work 👌🏻
I'm curious, do you game through your SteamOS, Windows 11, both, or does it depend on your preference? I think it's so neat. Also, I think your videos are so fun and calming to watch. I think your videos were in my recommendation and I'm glad they were! Thanks so much for sharing these with us! ✌🏾
SteamOS is usually preferable because of its many useful features and optimizations but not all games support it, and for the games that don't you use windows instead. If you wish to see what games are supported on steamOS you can check proton db
I was torn between the steam deck and a gaming phone since my main goal was to run Genshin but now I can run mobile/windows games, emulators and steam games!? I am sold! Literally put my deposit today for Q4! Did you have to do any key mappings to play Genshin?
so excited for you to get your steam deck! as natsume mentioned, genshin has native controller support on PC. i am using SWCD for steam deck controller support, and i didn't have to adjust anything, you can also use GlosSI if you prefer
Great video as always! Relaxing, informative, and fun. If I may ask, where did you purchase your PS Vita case? I recently got into the Vita and would love an easy way to protect it
I'm in the last month for the queue & it would be nice to play genshin on it for sure without booting laptop or desktop. both too big for bed. update: it came & honestly this thing is a miracle. in love with mine
How did you get the controllers to work on this game? I'm trying to set it up for both genshin and star rail and I have had zero luck on the deck. I am using windows 11 for my OS.
I just got my Steamdeck! Imma have to put games like genshin impact. Sucks that you have to dual boot windows not sure how I feel about that. Might have to get a whole nother sd card then. 😭 Also, I think it's hilarious how you got a $400-500 console just to play genshin impacft lmao. You do you though. Steamdeck seems really fun to mess around with.
Omg 😍!!! This video was so cool!! I’m literally thinking about getting into gaming and this pops up! I could see myself literally playing these games with a facial mask on .. when I do my self care 🧖♀️ Sundays! 😍This looks like so much fun! Aloha 🤙🏾 from Hawai’i 🧘🏽♀️🌿
for your customization and vibes i forgive you for win11 installation well not much of a big deal though you use the right tools to get the things done and i also have win 10 dual booted for genshin . but really, of all the steam deck videos ive watched yours had the best customization!! love it!
I got mine in less than a month, the 64 GB LCD (although I have OLED plans as well) but I feel satisfied. The only "extravagant" thing I did was change the SSD and that's it. As I play a lot of indies and cozys, the battery ends up being similar to that of my Switch, which doesn't bother me at all. However, I like having my PW for heavier games and all I have to say is: Thank you Valve.
Did you change any power settings in Windows at all for playing Genshin Impact? Or did you leave it all on "Balanced" stock settings, as well as leaving the boost mode enabled? Or did you pick "High Performance" power profile? Just curious. Thank you for these awesome videos as always ^_^
Hi J, I'm sorry this is kind of a dumb question, but it would make me happy if it was anwered :) Thank you sm for your Genshin notion template, it really helps me out sm keeping up with stuff. I was just wondering, where do you get the pictures for characters, bosses, regional specialties, etc.. (with the release of Sumeru and new characters i'm tryna update it :)) Thank you always for the cute, aesthetic content!! 😄
Email came in to show my deck was ready YEASTERDAY (my mom got it for me as a gift i am SO thankful cause i would NOT have been able to afford that myself I LOVE MY PARENTS SM😭😭) mine should be here soon💗💗 Yours she's beautiful 🥺
the deck is a great handheld, I have the 64GB version, and for $400 you can't really ask for much more but the cable not being detachable is a bummer maybe Valve will redo the charger with the Deck 2 and make it detachable.
Just got mine off ebay for $580. 256g ssd with 1tb sd! Im so excited 🤭. I rarely buy my tech new anymore. Doesn't make sense. The price is expensive until someone touches it then people don't want it 2nd hand for I'd say 70% authenticity 30% unboxing asethetics🤣
I finally got Win10 dual boot to work on my Steamdeck internal SSD along with Genshin, but Im trying to get as good fps as possible on medium settings, could you share some tips?
Instead of paying $60 per game just wait and save for the $400 version. You will beable to upgrade the SSD in the future. But the SD card loading is very fast no difference in load times. But once you get the deck you notice games are dirt cheap. Even pre order games are already discounted.
@@verarahma5324 yea it because its not officially release there yet. You should just buy a chinese handheld. The Ayn Loki is the better value if price is an issue if you get the 6800u thats double the power of the deck. But handhelds can range $800-1500 so to me paying $700 on a 64GB deck is a rip off. SteamOS isnt that good anyways. Why not buy something with Windows and a 2280 NVME for easier upgrades then install SteamOS 3.0 when they finally make all games work.
One: very cozy and relaxing vid :)) Two: Ahkakfhfka the customization you did is so cute 🥹 Three: Is dual booting for Windows and SteamOS working well? I’ve been wanting to do that but I’m a tad scared to try
Could I ask what software is being used here to track the FPS in the corner while in Windows? My knowledge is limited to Afterburner, which wasn't working on the Steam Deck, and Nvidia solutions so I'm kinda lost
Hi I am thinking of buying one but in description and comments I found it took very long to get one. I wonder why it takes long to get it? Currently im living in Asia, is it possible to ship to Asia?
liked and subbed. How did you manage to get the steam deck controls to work for Genshin? i'm able to start the game but when i enable the controller my character runs in a circle uncontrollably.
