I wanted to drop a comment to say that I have never seriously or competitively played Pokémon, and haven't seriously played any of the entries in the series since Pokémon Black in 2010. When I first started Pokémon Violet, I felt like a lot of the tips & tutorial videos on this playlist were going to be over my head and too much info before I got familiar with the world. Now that I'm past Area Zero & the main story, I felt like checking out some of this EV training I'd heard about. I read a few guides (without much gained) before popping in to check out this video, and you deserve SO MANY props for delivering this information in a very easy to understand way, and making it all as easy as possible to navigate. I came into this knowing 0 about EVs, how they worked, why they mattered, and what to do to acquire them. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you very much, great video, you're out here doing the Professor's work 😋😂
For those wondering, that means you have to knock out 28 of the same Pokémon with respective bracer, if you want to max a specific stat. You’re welcome. 252/9 = 28.
If you build a picnic right next to or over an item, you'll get that item almost limitlessly in the basket. That would help you gather the EV reset berries.
Yes do this with two pokemon that can't breed(ex: 2 males) use a lvl 1 egg power sandwich wait about 10 minutes and you'll receive around 8-10 of that said ground item.
This video is super informative but to me the chart looks identical from 13:13 to 15:05. You said it removed all defense stats but I still see them on the chart lol. Am I just stupid? Watched the video twice. You have great content, keep up the amazing work.
Looks like gaining EVs is similar to Sword and Shield, except the Power Items are available at the earliest point in any Pokémon game. Shame that Pokérus is no longer here, but that more than makes up for it :D
Bro you do a great job explaining this because I knew literally zero about this but now I feel like I understand it. Question what are the best stats to max out and best stats to sacrifice?
Very thorough, but you coulda have consildated some. however you did teach me alot, i only give the criticsm because some people may get disinterested. tbh you only needed the first 5 minutes. All you need is to buy the vitamin and take it til you cant. too broke? you can get it by leveling, the items that correspond to the ev can be bought, that item make you get a total of 9ev from every kill. and finally, you have to kill certain mons to make certain evs. sandwich x is good for a and b, sandwich y is only goot for c. coulda been like a 3m video. Its really cool all the info and what not, but the additional stuff kinda makes it feel intentionally dragged out, but i think youre just super passionate.
Quick questions: So if I have a pre-evolved poke, and I go and max out its evs by killing some weak pokes will the maxed evs carry over to the evolved version? Or do I retrain? Also, for evs, I just need to kill pokes of a certain type, not level up? I guess it will just feel weird killing a bunch of x and y pokes to max out the evs and then just go back to playing normal. If my poke is in my party but not deployed, and is getting exp, that doesn't affect evs right? Thanks!
You can also use picnic item trick for berries. Where you place the picnic down and have the basket on the ground hovering over the berry items. Just make sure to save before picking up berry items so you can reload game and place picnic down properly. It will generate berries every 3-4 mins while you go do something else. He actually has a video on this for $ in Pokémon as well.
Hi I just wanted to say great video! This helped me so much and it was so simple to understand. I have a question tho are you still able to do EV training with the quick battling mechanic?
So this whole time I’ve been giving my desired Pokémon 26 vitamins to max out a stat. For example 26 protein/calcium & 26 carbos and 1 hpup to ev train a physical/special sweeper
Can anyone explain why one Pokémon has one stat sparkling gold stars, but the other Pokémon does not? Both are maxed because I tried to use a vitamin, but it states it won't have any effect.
I'm confused again, I put the power bracelet on my Meowscarada and her ATK was only going up by 1 each time and has now stopped at 254, it isn't going any higher. It isn't maxed because it doesn't say it is in the summary screen. What am i doing wrong?
I'm curious about the "pokemon go" feature in this game for raising EVs. I've put a bracer on 2 pokemon I just hatched and have a stronger one in the front of my party. It's quick battling the required pokemon and the other 2 are gaining EVs based on their bracers. However, it's moving much slower. Like, probably 40-50 and they're only about half way. Do the quick battles only reward half the EVs or something? They're most definitely gaining so the feature works, but it's much slower, so I'm wondering if anyone knows.
Someone correct me if this doesn’t work. But theoretically you could find an area where there is a large amount of Pokémon that give certain stat ev’s, put on an encounter power for them, and just auto battle for a while until 252 is hit. This all depends if auto battling gives evs which I have no idea. Much cheaper way if you ask me
I have a question. So with all of this, is there a need to breed a Pokémon with good stats off the bat or can I get a bad iv Pokémon and just put vitamins and berrys into the Pokémon.
I think you can get away with training a bad one it just takes more effort compared to breeding where you can get a good starting point. But I'm no expert in this.
This video has the best explanation for EVs for someone who doesn't know what EVs even are. I'll definitely share this with anyone who wants to get into competitive Pokemon. As a long time Pokemon fan, well done
Thanks again for watching! Be sure to watch PART 2 to learn about Natures, IVs, and Hyper Training: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TBH5oDqwjKI.html Here are a few tips based on some common questions I saw in the comments: 1. Auto-Battling via Let's Go Mode *DOES NOT* Give EV Points. 2. If you're looking for Pokemon earlier than access to the Inlet Grotto, battle Shinx for Attack EVs, Fletchling for Speed EVs, and Psyduck for Special Attack EVs.
I've always wanted to play wifi battles but I was always afraid my pokemon were never going to be as viable as the competition. This video has helped a lot. Hope to see you online :)
Thank you very much for the explanation! I'd mostly used the accelerated methods of EV training in prior games (Super Training in Gen 6 and Poke Pelago in Gen 7), and I'm very thankful to learn that EV training the old-fashioned way in Gen 9, what with Power items and being able to selectively aggro what EV training targets in the overworld I wanna battle, is much faster than I initially thought. Plus, the visual analogy for the concept of EV training was spot-on. All the props!
Thank you for this video! I’m new to Pokémon since Arceus and I’m still trying to learn what to do with everything I’m picking up while riding around or buying from stores. This was very helpful!
So I just beat the game and I accidentally destroyed the pokémon Scarlet legendary that you can catch Will the legendary return or is the only way to get the legendary back to start the game all over has anyone else done this by accident Oh and I can't go back to the last save because it's after I beat the legendary
Great video! I really didn't need the explanation of what EVs are or anything because I've been playing Pokemon a long time but I'm so glad you gave such a clear explanation and I hope it causes more people to get into competitive battling as a result. I was hoping there would be a faster EV training method than using bracers and fighting Pokemon (I miss the bags from gen 6 a lot right now) but this seems like it won't be too bad. Thanks for the info!
I knew all of this and just wanted something Pokemon related playing in the background, but I wanted to stop and give you a compliment. This is hands down the clearest and most thorough explanation I have ever seen. I'm going to be sending this to my kids because you taught it better than I could!
I have a question. You suggest buying 6 of each EV training item to train 6 at a go. Would that mean putting six Pokemon of the same kind that I want to train in a specific EV, such as 6 Pokemon I want to train in Attack EVs? If I just put 5 other random ones in there will they all just get attack EVs?
something important about the berries, you can actually get them in bulk at the auction house, you can change the date on your switch and reset the game until you get the berries you need
@@AbdallahSmash well to be fair the same can be said for running around an area hoping to get the berries you need rather than the ones you don't, a process reliant on luck! great video!
