I know this is an older video, but I used to work in a print shop. I noticed the quality issue on your cards and I wanted to say, don't let a printer blame it on a dark background. Yes, inconsistent color is more common on darker prints, but what you pointed out happens when you get the print before the toner/ink is dry all the way through. We would protect prints from moisture overnight and cut the next day as not to pull color off the edges when cutting. I am sure you'v got that all squared away by now, but I thought this might be helpful insight to anyone reading this.
