The way the first judge shut down the sovereign citizen was exactly how every judge should do so and this video should be a training video for every judge who is "fortunate" enough to have to deal with these morons.

A view from the UK. Having an older brother that died a heroin addict i can categorically state that the only rehab for addicts is "cold Turkey". As a 45yr old, it took a 5yr prison sentence to dry him out but, alas his body was already shot and died aged 51. Post mortem showed he had a body of an 80yr old. One of the things you very rarely get told is the "other" effects taking narcotics does. It actually eats away your insides, your vital organs. your body tries its best to repair it but fails due to the deluge showered on it. And yes, he broke our family apart.
opiate withdrawal can kill you. "cold turkey" is very dangerous and unwise. it's also not rehabilitative to simply not use anymore without learning coping mechanisms, because the risk of relapse remains. that's why rehab was created in the first place. i'm sorry addiction broke your family and took your brother away. it's not fair and none of you deserved it.

Both judges in this video are perfect examples of those who can perhaps get offenders either straightened out and/or out if society. Real justice is being carried out, and kudos to these judges. It's too bad that other courts aren't using such sentencing as their guidelines.

Judge Boyd drug addicts, as with all addicts lie and they lie even if it means it will affect their well being and even life. I know gambling addicts that lie about the money they lose and of where it comes from. With weak willed individuals the addiction is stronger than there will to just stop. But once the addiction is beaten they become thankful and pleasant humans once again.
Not considering that the "sovereign citizen" brand of vexatious litigants are notorious for practicing paper terr0rism (which _can_ negatively impact court staff, witnesses, and law enforcement); clogging up the dockets with BS hearings and motions; and in some jurisdictions, basically write their own appeals after losing when they clearly weren't fit to represent themselves. Smart Judge.
