Excellent! Having just installed 18.1 on my new 16 Pro Max I was having trouble knowing what AI features came with this release. Your video was a godsend! Thank you!
None of these features are available on my iPhone 16 yet, as I am not in the US. Apparently I have to wait until December for the worldwide release - so I will have to watch this video then.
No, it should also be available on the 15 Pro. Make sure you are on the iOS 18.1 update, and make sure you have signed up for Apple Intelligence in settings. There is a waitlist, which may take a day or two... but then you should see the "Create Memories" function on your phone.
The Apple Intelligence features will only be available for iPhone 15 pro and later models. 18.1 exists for all phones, but not with all the AI Features.
It's hard to say. when I did it a couple of months ago it took less than an hour. For the 18.2 waitlist, I've been waiting for four days... a lot of new people are going to be signing up today, the sooner you join the waitlist the faster it will let you through.
As always, Great video.. it is interesting to see Apple’s approach to AI at the moment. They are integrating the AI into the everyday tasks that people use all the time in a very easy and intuitive way. I have been using AI with various different tools and it does amazing things but you need to go into their specific apps. I hope that they integrate Apple intelligence into Shortcuts, where you just ask Siri to create a shortcut for you. It would really help for more complex shortcuts. Thanks for doing these videos, I share relevant ones with my wife all the time.
Yeah, I'm excited about their take on AI. Specifically because it's going to bring those tools into the device itself, making it easier than jumping into different apps and websites to solve problems. In the long run, I think it's going to be a winning strategy. At first, it seems like they're a little behind... but they've got a lot planned for this year. I have started playing with iOS 18.2, and it has some nice tools... so we are moving in the right direction.
Depends on the laws of the state that you're in. When you trigger the record feature it will announce to all parties that the call is being recorded. In most states all you need to do is have a statement like that and it becomes legal.
For most people to wait didn't take very long. You have to imagine there were millions and millions of people trying to sign on all at the same time on Monday… By now it should be pretty quick. FYI, I am on a waiting list for the 18.2 update and have been sitting and waiting for four days now… So take that.
I dont know how you’ve been on 18.2 for months… the first beta was just released last week. Have you tried the visual look up? That’s a pretty nice feature. I’m also excited about testing out image playground (I’m still waiting to be at the front of the waitlist. Also really enjoying the GPT/Siri integration. But yes, 18.1 is just the beginning. There’s lots still in the works for Apple intelligence.
When the appel will realise properly keyboard with numbers on top on main keyboard page, like in android and statick "back button' on screen like in android? I don't have the nerve to constantly search for where the back button is in every single app...
Maybe at this point… But we're just getting started with Apple Intelligence. I'm working on the 18.2 update, and not only is the summarization better, but the ability to create and compose messages exists too… So there are a lot of things in the works, but not all of them are out yet.
Strange, it says here that iOS 18.1 has officially launched. But when I check for software updates on my iPhone 16 Pro, I get a message saying that 18.0.1 is the latest version. 🤔
@@TheMacWhisperer I think it's your mic placement and room treatment or lack or lack there of. Your audio is bouncing off the walls creating an echo. It will sound a lot cleaner if you clip a mic to your shirt. Sorry, I listen to a lot of videos. Great content however.
I’m not gonna argue around any of that… But with the 18.2 update and more updates that are coming over the next year intelligence will get more and more robust. This is just the beginning…
She looks different in iOS 18.1 (glows around the edge of the screen) but acts the same. The first New Siri tools will be released with 18.2 in approximately 6-8 weeks.
